After an absolutely devastating Week 2, there are a lot of question marks for some contending teams heading into their Week 3 matchups. Here's a game-by-game look at which starters and key players are in jeopardy of being limited or inactive come Sunday:

- Atlanta is really beat up after that brutal collapse last week against Dallas. The secondary takes a hit with starting safety Ricardo Allen and backup CB Kendall Sheffield ruled out. Sharrod Neasman takes over for Allen at safety. Neasman has barely played any snaps except for the 2018 season, when he played over 400 snaps. He produced the 51st-best PFF grade among safeties that season, but rated 87th out of 100 safeties in tackling.
- Julio Jones not practicing Friday means he very likely misses the game. Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage move up to the No. 1 and No. 2 roles
- RT Kaleb McGary left last week’s game and was replaced by second-year player Matt Gono, who played well allowing only one pressure on 35 dropbacks.
- The Falcons’ pass rush could be missing their top two defensive ends in Takk McKinley and Dante Fowler, who have combined for 15 of the team’s 38 pressures this season. Steven Means and Allen Bailey are the backups. In six seasons, Means has 15 total pressures on 225 pass rushes (6.6% rate). Bailey, a 10-year veteran, is not a good pass rusher and has a grand total of one sack in his last 296 pass rushes.

Injured Reserve: G Brandon Scherff, knee.
- The loss of guard Brandon Scherff is a major loss for an already poor Washington OL. Scherff is far and away the highest graded OL on Washington, rating as the eighth-best guard in 2019. Wes Schweitzer steps in and is a big downgrade. Schweitzer rated as the 84th-best guard last season in Atlanta and this year has been even worse, rating 64th out of 82 guards. Schweitzer has allowed two pressures on only 25 pass blocking snaps this year after allowing a 6% pressure rate last year.
- RT Morgan Moses has been the best tackle on Washington’s roster the last two seasons and along with Scherff, are the only OL to be graded >60 by PFF on the roster last season. Moses has been solid protecting the QB, allowing a solid 5% pressure rate the last two seasons. If Moses can’t go, Cornelius Lucas would take over. Lucas played fairly well for Chicago last season, rating 27th-best at guard and a low 4% pressure rate on 507 snaps.

- Just when you thought the Browns were getting healthier, they will most likely be without CB Denzel Ward and CB Greedy Williams has been declared out. The good news is they do get back excellent slot CB Kevin Johnson. With Washington lacking many WR threats outside of Terry McLaurin, CB depth won’t be as critical for this game.

PUP: C Weston Richburg, knee.
- We could write a novel based on the Niners injury report. On offense, QB Jimmy Garoppolo, TE George Kittle, and the Niners’ two top RBs in Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert are all out. Backup QB Nick Mullens takes over and the last we saw him he threw 13 TDs with 10 INTs with an impressive 8.3 ypa. He finished as the 29th-highest graded QB that season by PFF. The dropoff from Coleman and Mostert to Jerrick Mckinon and Jeff Wilson shouldn’t be substantial.
- Last week TE Jordan Reed filled in nicely for George Kittle, producing 7 receptions for 50 yards and 2 TDs.
- On defense, the Niners are completely decimated. Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, and Soloman Thomas are all out along the DL. When you include DL DeForest Buckner being traded in the offseason, the Niners have lost 209 of their team's total 377 pressures from last season. Rookie Javon Kinlaw, along with D.J.Jones and journeyman Kerry Hyder take over. Hyder was the 63rd-highest-graded DE by PFF last year. The backup DL is Kevin Givens who played only 10 snaps last season.
- At LB, losing Dre Greenlaw is a blow as he was rated one of the top 30 coverage LBs last year and recorded the sixth-best tackling efficiency according to PFF. He only missed four tackles all season. His ability to cover TEs will be a major loss and could lead to an Evan Engram breakout. Mark Nzeocha, who has 232 total snaps in his five-year career, is the backup. In 175 snaps in 2018, he produced a 48.3 PFF coverage grade.

- Clearly, losing Saquon Barkley is a blow for the Giants but considering he ranked 28th in success rate last season and has been stuffed on 47% of his attempts this season, I think his loss may be overstated. Look for Wayne Gallman and Dion Lewis to take over his rushing share until Devonta Freeman is ready for full action.
- Losing Sterling Shepard at WR doesn’t help this week either. Browns cast-offs Damian Ratley and C.J. Board take over for Shepard on the outside. Those two WRs caught 3 of 5 total targets last week.

- The Titans will be without rookie slot CB Chris Jackson, a seventh-round pick who has been terrible so far, ranking 76th in QB rating allowed this season. Luckily, Malcolm Butler and Jonathan Joseph should be ok enough to play, saving the CB depth for Tennessee.
- Unfortunately, WR A.J. Brown is out for the second straight week. Last week. Ryan Tannehill shredded the Jacksonville defense but really focused on targeting TEs Jonnu Smith and Anthony Frisker the most. Tannehill only targeted WRs, Adam Humphries, Corey Davis, and Cameron Batson on 13 of his 24 attempts. We could see a similar approach on Sunday.

- This season has been a nightmare so far for Minnesota and the Vikings are taking a beating on their defense. After losing Danielle Hunter prior to the season, the Vikings have now lost starters Anthony Barr, Cameron Dantzler, and Mike Hughes to injury. The Barr injury has been a bit overblown as he has struggled the last two seasons. Since a stout PFF grade of 90 in 2015, his grades have plummeted to 50.6, 63.7, 70.5, 56.3 and 45.2 this season. What makes this difficult is that the Vikings have also lost rookie LB Troy Dye, leading to a lack of depth at LB. Eric Wilson and Ryan Connelly will fill those spots. This is a bad time for the LBs to go down as they have to face Derrick Henry. Both Connelly and Wilson have struggled on run defense. Connelly was a starter for the Giants last year before he tore his ACL and in 187 snaps graded as an awful run defender by PFF at 34.8. Wilson has been a decent backup in his career but in 62 snaps defending the run this season, Wilson grades as the third-worst run defender among 76 LBs.
- Dantzler missed last week’s game and this week Hughes will be missing from that secondary as well. Rookie Jeff Gladney and Holton Hill will start. Gladney ranks 96th out of 109 CBs in coverage grade by PFF with a 143.8 QB rating allowed. Hill has been awful as well, allowing a 125.4 QB rating in coverage while grading out as the 107th ranked CB out of 109 CBs.

Injured Reserve: C Richie Incognito, Achilles; WR Tyrell Williams, shoulder.
- The Raiders’ OL was a strength coming in with as much continuity as any OL in the NFL. But they are now down guard Richie Incognito and RT Trent Brown. T Denzelle Good and Sam Young are both also questionable. That means all 3 RTs could be out at the same time. Brown graded as the 19th-best pass blocking tackle in the NFL last year with only one sack allowed on 326 pass blocking snaps. Goode started at RT last week after playing exclusively at guard last season. Good is a solid swing OL and only gave up five total pressures last year on 194 pass blocking snaps. The biggest issue is the loss of Incognito, not only because he is one of the best guards in the NFL, but because of who his replacement is. Fourth-round rookie John Simpson took over for Incognito last week against the Saints and posted an astonishingly low 11.8 pass block grade while allowing 5 pressures on 39 pass blocking snaps, a 12.8% pressure rate.
- In addition to the OL issues, the Raiders will be missing exciting WR Henry Ruggs. Even without catching a ton of passes from Carr, Ruggs was able to use his speed to open the field up for TE Darren Waller to have a huge game against New Orleans. Without Ruggs, the Patriots will be able to focus all their defensive energy on Waller.

- The biggest injury concern for New England is the loss of center David Andrews, who graded as the fourth-best center by PFF so far this season. Hjalte Froholdt, a fourth-round pick from Arkansas last season, is next in line to replace Andrews. Froholdt spent his rookie season on injured reserve and has never taken a snap in the NFL.

- Last week against the Browns, without Geno Atkins and Mike Daniels, the Bengals surrendered 215 rushing yards on 35 carries for a ridiculous 6.1 ypc and a 0.21 EPA/Play. Having Atkins declared out and Daniels not practicing all week, is a problem for this run defense against Miles Sanders.

- Just as the Eagles started getting healthy on offense, they lost rookie first-round pick Jalen Reagor and will continue to miss Alshon Jeffery. The Eagles will once again lean on Greg Ward, as they did late last season. Ward is more of a possession WR, averaging a low 7.5 ADOT last season. But he did catch 70% of his targets. With the Bengals allowing a league-high aDOT, DeSean Jackson will look to flourish.
- The Eagles’ best defensive player, Fletcher Cox, is listed as Questionable and would be a big blow if he can’t go. Cox is a perennial top 10 DL and has accounted for seven of the Eagles 30 total pressures this season. The Eagles do have a good DL otherwise, with Malik Jackson and Javon Hargrave starting at DL if Cox can’t go.

- Obviously, losing Christian McCaffrey is the biggest story. Mike Davis will take over the starting RB duties, and so far has produced the seventh-best receiving DVOA among RBs this season. The last time Davis received significant snaps was in 2018 for the Seahawks and produced a solid 4.6 ypc, 34 receptions and five total TDs. Consider Davis a slightly above replacement RB.
- Carolina comes in as the 29th-ranked DVOA run defense after finishing 32nd last season. Now for the second straight game, they will be without their best run defender Kawann Short. Carolina allowed Leonard Fournette to run for 103 yards on 12 carries. Even excluding that final 46-yard breakaway touchdown run, Fournette still produced over 5.5 ypc and a 0.34 EPA per play.

- Losing starting DT Justin Jones wouldn’t normally be a huge deal, as he is a middling DL in the NFL but his replacement is Jerry Tillery, who struggled as a rookie. He only produced 10 total pressures last season on 186 pass rush snaps but has already produced 8 pressures this season, a closer sign to his first-round pedigree.
- Guard Trai Turner is Questionable after not practicing this week. Turner came from Carolina in the offseason and has been a solid player in his career, allowing a 4.8% pressure rate last season. His backup is second-year player Tyree St. Louis, who saw his first snaps of his career last week when Turner went down. His PFF grade in that game was a pathetic 44.9 and was equally bad as a run and pass protector.

- The Jets are terrible and injured. Bad combo. The WR corps is decimated with the loss of Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims and now Breshad Perriman. The good news is that both Braxton Berrios and Chris Hogan will go but that’s about it. Journeyman Josh Malone will see snaps as well and has 11 receptions in his career.
- The Jets OL is one of if not the worst in the NFL already, but could be down two more OL with tackle George Fant and center Connor McGovern potentially out. Both have played poorly this season but have been solid OL in their careers. McGovern was excellent last year, allowing a low 2.6% pressure rate, but has been bad so far allowing nearly a 10% pressure rate. The fill in for Fant at RT is Chuma Edoga, a second-year player who has never taken a snap in the NFL. McGovern’s backup is Josh Roberts, a fifth-year journeyman who has just over 100 total NFL snaps in his career. DeForest Buckner for the Colts is in prime position to cause disruption.

- Tackle Tyron Smith missed last week and is Questionable again on Sunday. Terence Steele filled in last week and was just ok against Atlanta, allowing four total pressures on 51 dropbacks. The good news is Seattle doesn’t present a formidable pass rush and there is no issue with crowd noise.

- Pete Carrol says that LT Duane Brown should be ok enough to play Sunday but he is still Questionable. Brown has been excellent this season, allowing only three pressures on 76 dropbacks. If Brown is unable to play, who takes his spot would depend on the status of Cedric Ogbuehi, who has been injured since training camp. If both can’t go then the third-stringer is Jamarco Jones, who has only one career start under his belt.
- The defensive front for Seattle hasn’t been great so far and now is in a bit of shambles. Bruce Irvin is the Seahawks’ best pass rusher and he, along with Rasheem Green are on IR with DT Jarran Reed and Benson Mayowa both questionable. That leaves Poona Ford, L.J. Injured Reserve: FB Nick Bawden, undisclosed; CB Justin Coleman, hamstring.
- The Lions defense has been torched in the passing game and the secondary is not getting any healthier. Starting CB Desmond Trufant is doubtful to go along with slot CB Justin Coleman already on IR. Rookie Jeff Okudah got worked against Davante Adams last week and will now have to go up against DeAndre Hopkins. Okudah allowed 7 receptions on 10 targets for 121 yards while in coverage. I expect a talent like Okudah to play better than he did in his first NFL action. Starting opposite Okudah will be Amani Oruwariye, who was only targeted three times on 39 coverage snaps. Oruwariye has shown himself well in his 1+ seasons after producing a 75.3 PFF coverage grade last season.

Injured Reserve: LB Von Miller, ankle; CB AJ Bouye, shoulder; CB Courtland Sutton, knee.
- With A.J. Bouye on IR, rookie third-round pick Michael Ojemudia started last week opposite Bryce Callahan, and allowed six receptions for 148 yards and 2 TDs on 10 targets.
- After losing WR Courtland Sutton to IR, it was expected that Jerry Jeudy would step up but he is questionable as well. Fellow rookie WR K.J. Hamler actually received more targets last week (7) and caught 3 for 48. He will need to step in as the big play receiver to go along with Tim Patrick and Jeudy if he can play.

Injured Reserve: WR Equanimeous St. Brown, knee; G Lane Taylor, knee.
- Not much has to be said about the impact of not having Davante Adams for the Packers. The WR corps is fairly thin and Allen Lazard steps into the No. 1 WR role with Marquez Valdes-Scantling as the No. 2.
- Not having DL Kenny Clark is a big deal for the Green Bay defense, as he was rated as the third-best pass rusher among DL last season. Being able to pressure Drew Brees up the middle has always been a big key to stopping that passing game.

- LT Terron Armstead potentially not playing would be a major blow to one of New Orleans’ best position groups. Armstead has been a perennial All-Pro and has allowed only one pressure on 75 dropbacks this season. His backup is second-year player Ethan Greenidge, who has never played an NFL snap.
- Michael Thomas is out again this week, meaning Emmanuel Sanders and Tre’Quan Smith will need to step up on the outside.
