Injured Reserve: CB Tavon Young, knee.
- The two key injuries come in the way of star LT Ronnie Stanley and CB Jimmy Smith. Stanley has been graded as the #1 pass blocking Tackle for two straight years and has not allowed a sack since 2018. Veteran D.J. Fluker would take over if Stanley can’t go and is a big downgrade. He has already allowed more sacks (1) on 12 pass block snaps than Stanley has allowed in the last 19 games. Fluker has allowed 6 sacks and a 5% pressure rate in the last two seasons. His pass block grade last season was a medicore 62.2.
- Jimmy Smith has long been a staple in the Ravens secondary. He allowed a 62.8 QB rating and only 49% of targets to be caught while in coverage last season. The Ravens are in good hands with Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters in the secondary.

- The Washington Football team’s biggest strength coming into the season was a deep defensive line. That line depth took a hit with #1 pick Chase Young out Sunday and Matt Ioannidis out for the season. The good news is that Washington still has good talent with Ryan Kerrigan and Montez Sweat as the starting DEs. Kerrigan has a 12% pressure rate with Young at 11%.
- WR Steven Sims out for Sunday depletes an already poor position group. Expect to see more of veteran Dontrelle Inman, who caught 2 TDs on 6 targets last week.

- The Cardinals had been one of the healthiest teams in the NFL but heading into week 4 they are decimated. WR Deandre Hopkins hsan’t practiced this week and seems extremely doubtful. When you also consider Christian Kirk has also been declared out, the Cardinals will have to rely on diminutive speedster Andy Isabella and the ever reliable Larry Fitzgerald. Look for a more ball control gameplan if Hopkins is declared out with Arizona going up against a bad run defense in Carolina.
- You normally would think the potential loss of Hopkins would be the Cards biggest worry but that already mediocre defense is absolutely in shambles. Starters Devon Kennard (OLB), Dre Kirkpatrick (CB) Budda Baker (FS) and Chris Banjo (SS) have been ruled out. Kennard leads the team in pressures with 9 and will be replaced by the 2nd leading pressure man in Haasan Reddick. Kirkpatrick has allowed the lowest QB rating on the team, ranks 44th among CBs this season and is 6th best in run defense grade among CBs. However, he is graded out as one of the worst CBs in the NFL this season from a pass coverage grade. Nickel CB Byron Murphy will step in opposite of Patrick Peterson. Murphy has the highest coverage grade among Arizona CBs but has allowed the 3rd highest yards after the catch per reception among all NFL CBs. Who fills in as the #3 CB role is a bit of a mystery and is important as the Panthers play 1-1 personnel 60% of the time. Guys listed on the depth chart include 5th year player Kevin Peterson who has never played a defensive snap and runs a 4.66 40 and journeyman Curtis Riley who mainly plays Safety but on occasion has played outside corner. Riley allowed a 145.8 QB rating last year with a 22.4 yards per reception and 2 TDs on only 8 targets in coverage. Now lets get to the safety position where the Cards are without both starting safeties. Baker is a stud who leads the team in tackles, is #1 among all NFL Safeties in tackles and is 11th in run defense grade among all Safeties. Last season his 120 tackles led the team by 15 tackles, was first among all NFL Safeties, ranked 7th in run defense grade and #4 in pressures among all Safeties. He’s a gigantic loss for Arizona. Banjo is currently graded as the #2 best defensive player on Arizona, #1 in tackling grade and #2 in pass coverage grade. Banjo is the 3rd leading tackler on Arizona. Backups at Safety include 2nd year man Deionte Thompson and 4th year journeyman Charles Washington who has played a grand total of 101 snaps in his career. In his only real action, in 2017, he allowed 5 receptions on 5 targets for 87 yards including 58 yac. Thompson has defensive grades of 49.6 and 50.9 in his two seasons so far.

- LT Russell Okung is by far the most important injury on the Panthers list. He easily grades out as their best lineman and has allowed only 1 sack this season. If he can’t go Trent Scott and Greg Little are the backups. They’ve allowed a combined 4 pressures on only 31 dropbacks. Little graded out as one of the worst tackles in the NFL last season.

- The Jags OL will take a hit with Center Brandon Lindner out. Lindner has been fantastic not allowing a single pressure on 57 pass blocking snaps. Lindner also grades out as the 15th best run blocking Center in the NFL. The backup Center is 7 year veteran Tyler Shatley who has over 1,000 snaps in his career at Center with a 4.2% pressure rate and run block grades of 56, 53 and 49 in years he played significant snaps.
- The good news for the Jags is that starting WR D.J. Chark will play this week. This comes at a good time after last week’s poor offensive performance against Miami.

- The Bengals will continue to be without starting DL Geno Atkins and potentially DT Mike Daniels again this week. After getting shredded by the Browns two headed RB monster two weeks ago, they held their own against Miles Sanders and Boston Scott, allowing 4.5 yards per carry. Christian Covington will continue to start up the middle with D.J. Reader.
- Nickel CB Mackensie Alexander is doubtful for Sunday. He has struggled this year, allowing 12 of 14 targets to be caught for 138 yards and 1 TD. He has allowed a 131.5 QB rating. Five-year veteran CB LeShaun Sims will fill in and he hasn’t been a good CB historically. He has never produced a coverage grade above 64 and last year allowed 20 of 28 targets to be caught for 242 yards and 2 TDs.

- The Saints injury report is bad on both sides of the ball. They will be without Guard Andrus Peat who hasn't played very well the last two seasons. Replacing him looks to be veteran Nick Easton who has graded out as the 51st best Guard on the season by PFF.
- Outside of Alvin Kamara, Jared Cook as been Drew Brees' most reliable target on the season. Cook is out and will be replaced by veteran Josh Hill and rookie Adam Trautman from Dayton. With Michael Thomas out again this week and Brees' refusal, or inability, to throw the ball down the field, the Saints will most likely rely on running the football against the 29th ranked DVOA run defense in the Lions.
- The biggest blow for the Saints this week comes in the way of multiple defensive starter injuries. Starting CBs Janoris Jenkins and Marshon Lattimore are both out. Lattimore has uncharacteristically struggled this year, allowing 10 receptions on 12 targets for 155 yards and 2 TDs. He ranks dead last in the NFL in QB rating allowed in coverage at 158. Jenkins has been better, allowing 13 receptions on 22 targets while in coverage for 138 yards and 0 TDs. His QB rating allowed in coverage of 58.5 ranks 11th best in the NFL. Lattimore and Jenkins have committed 5 of the Saints' league leading 8 defensive PI penalties. Expect to see Patrick Robinson and P.J. Williams outside with Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in the slot. Williams is in year 5 and he's been one of the worst coverage CBs during this stretch, allowing 68.5% completions with 13.1 yards/rec, 16 TDs, 4 INTs and a QB rating allowed in coverage of 112.3. He has recorded three straight sub 48.0 PFF coverage grade seasons. Robinson, in his 10th year, has been a decent part time player with the Saints but has allowed 22 receptions on 31 targets for 249 yards and 1 TD since 2018.

- Seattle’s injury report is littered with guys, especially the secondary. Star Safety Jamal Adams is out and his loss will be felt on this Seattle defense. Not only is Adams #1 among all Safeties in run defense grade but he has three more pressures than any other Safety in the NFL this year. Four year veteran Delano Hill is also hurt so first year player Ryan Neal would take over. If Hill does play he is a substantial drop off in talent. As good as Adams is defending the run, Hill is as bad defending the run. He ranks 34th among Safeties in limited snaps this year but was 97th, 2nd worst in the NFL, defending the run last year. He is among the worst tacklers at Safety with a 4.5% missed tackle rate last year. Neal has played his first snaps this season with 29 snaps to date.
- Not only are Adams and potentially Hill both out but CBs Neiko Thorpe and Quinton Dunbar are also hurt. Dunbar is Seattle’s best CB and is 17th among CBs in QB rating allowed in coverage. Backup to Dunbar is Tre Flowers who has been terrible in coverage since he entered the league in 2018. Flowers’ PFF coverage grade has gone down since his rookie season, posting grades of 57.4, 47.7 and 40.1 this year. Thorpe is not a starter but along with the other DB injuries, his loss would greatly hurt the depth at that position.
- The loss of rookie LB Jordyn Brooks will hurt the depth of the LB corps, although he has only played 29 snaps this season.

- The right side of the Chargers OL is a wreck with both RT Bryan Baluga and RG Trai Turner potentially out Sunday. Baluga has been one of the best tackles in the NFL as a pass blocker, although he has allowed 4 pressures on only 61 QB dropbacks this season. His backup is Trey Pipkins who has allowed an 8% pressure rate in his 240 pass blocking snaps in his 2-year career. Turner has really struggled in the one game this season in addition to last season. He allowed 6 sacks last season in Carolina and produced a poor 58.3 run blocking grade. His backup is Tyree St. Louis who was injured early in last week’s game but is expected to play. St. Louis, a 2nd year UFA from Miami, has only played 79 snaps in his career all this season. He has graded as the 3rd worst Guard in the NFL this season by PFF.
- WR Mike Williams is expected to miss this game on Sunday. Look for rookie K.J. Hill from Ohio State and 2nd-year UFA Jalen Guyton to take over for Williams. Tampa has struggled defending RBs out of the backfield this year, allowing the 3rd highest target share to RBs and bottom 10 in yards per attempts allowed. With Williams out, Austin Ekeler should expect to receive a lot of targets on Sunday.

- Major loss at WR with star Chris Godwin out for this game and Scotty Miller questionable. Godwin last year was graded as the #1 WR by PFF and ranked 7th in yards after the catch per reception. He also had only one drop in the last 1+ years. Miller has been playing as the #2 WR on the outside. Justin Watson is expected to slide into the slot in place of Godwin but Watson is really bad. He dropped 2 balls on only 25 targets last year and graded out at 63.9. This is a dramatic drop off in talent and consistency. The Bucs are 3rd best in the NFL in success rate on 3rd downs in non-garbage time and a lot has to do with the ability of Brady to find Godwin.
- RB Leonard Fournette will be out but Ronald Jones should be able to fill his shoes.

- The Browns injury list is mainly filled with key defensive players. DE Adrian Clayborn and CB Greedy Williams have been declared Out while DE Olivier Vernon and CB Denzel Ward are questionable. CB Kevin Johnson came back last week and played well against Washington but against 4 really good Dallas WRs the Browns can’t afford to lose any more CBs outside of Williams. A huge key is making sure Ward will play since he would most likely be on Amari Cooper on one side and it would allow Johnson to play his natural position in the slot. Otherwise if Ward can’t go then Johnson would have to play outside leaving Tavierre Thomas in the slot. He’s bene really bad this season, allowing 13 of 16 targets to be caught and allowing the 8th worst QB rating among 41 slot CBs. Cee Dee Lamb could have a big day if this is the case in the slot.
- RB Kareem Hunt is questionable with a groin injury. Yes Nick Chubb has been excellent so far and can take full RB duties but the ability to spell Chubb with Hunt and keeping both guys fresh throughout has been a key to 4th quarter drives this season that have sealed two wins. Hunt ranks as the 6th best RB in success rate while Chubb ranks a surprising 30th. Chubb has benefitted from a league leading 12 explosive plays. Hunt has excelled in the passing game as well, catching 8 passes with 2 going for TDs. If he is out he will be sorely missed.

- DL Chris Jones has popped up on the injury list and is currently Questionable. He is a huge cog in the middle of that Chiefs DL. He currently grades #1 among DL in pass rush grade and has generated 12 pressures on 96 pass rush snaps. That’s four more pressures than the 2nd most on the Chiefs. This is after he graded as the #2 pass rusher among DL last season. Last season, in three games that he missed, the Chiefs allowed 31,6 and 31 points. His backup is UFA rookie Tershawn Wharton, who has 1 pressure on 23 pass rush snaps.
- Not many have heard of 4th round rookie CB L’JArius Sneed, but his injury is an under the radar big loss. Sneed has only allowed 7 of 13 targets to be caught while in coverage for 60 yards and has allowed the 2nd lowest QB rating when targeted in the NFL. He has also added two INTs to his short resume. 2nd year man Rashad Fenton will start in his place and has allowed 5 receptions on 8 targets for 59 yards and 1 TD. Last season, Fenton played fairly well for the Chiefs on 198 coverage snaps, producing a 74 PFF coverage rating.

Injured Reserve: C Richie Incognito, Achilles; WR Tyrell Williams, shoulder.
- Last week we highlighted the significant drop off from Guard Richie Incognito to rookie backup John Simpson. He posted an insanely low 11.8 PFF pass blocking grade when he stepped in for Incognito in game against New Orleans and then proceeded to post a team low 42.6 pass block grade last week against New England. He has now allowed a 12% pressure rate, which is the 3rd highest percentage among all qualifying Guards. RT Denzell Good filled in for injured Trent Brown last week and was equally as bad as Simpson, posting a meager 48.6 pass blocking grade while allowing 5 pressures on 39 QB dropbacks (12.8%). Good is in line to start again against Buffalo.
- Rookie CB Damon Arnette is out and I am not sure it’s a negative for the Raiders. He has been terrible this year in coverage, allowing 10 receptions on 11 targets for 201 yards and 1 TD. He has allowed a 149.1 QB rating in coverage, good for 115th among 122 CBs, and a yards per coverage of 2.39 which ranks 119th among CBs. Filling Arnette’s shoes this week will be 7-year veteran Nevin Lawson. In his career, Lawson has allowed a 63.7% completion percentage, 11.5 yards per reception and a 104.1 QB rating.
- The Raiders will also be down both of their rookie WRs in Henry Ruggs and Brian Edwards. This leaves Nelson Agholar and Hunter Renfrow as the starting WRs.

- The Eagles will be without a number of offensive weapons on Sunday night, but no injury hurts more than the loss of TE Dallas Goedert. Philadelphia has used 12 personnel on a league-leading 59 percent of the their offensive snaps, but that total dropped to 35 percent after Goedert's injury, which was still the most in the league. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they will also be without the services of Jalen Reagor, Alshon Jeffery, Desean Jackson and possibly JJ Arcega-Whiteside, leaving Greg Ward and rookie fifth-round pick John Hightower as their top wide receivers.

PUP: C Weston Richburg, knee.
- Offensively, the 49ers will get a huge boost in the form of George Kittle, who returns to the lineup after a two-week absence and it couldn't come at a better time. The Eagles allowed three touchdowns to Tyler Higbee in Week 2 and their interior defenders have struggled in pass coverage all year. Opposing QBs are 19-20 for 223 yards and two touchdowns when targeting LB Nathan Gerry and slot corner Nickell Robey-Coleman. WR Deebo Samuel will make his 2020 debut after missing the first three weeks with a foot injury, however he is expected to play in a limited role.
- On defense, the Niners are completely decimated. Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, and Soloman Thomas are all out along the DL. When you include DL DeForest Buckner being traded in the offseason, the Niners have lost 209 of their team’s total 377 pressures from last season. Rookie Javon Kinlaw, along with D.J.Jones and journeyman Kerry Hyder take over. Hyder was the 63rd-highest-graded DE by PFF last year. The backup DL is Kevin Givens who played only 10 snaps last season.
- At LB, losing Dre Greenlaw is a blow as he was rated one of the top 30 coverage LBs last year and recorded the sixth-best tackling efficiency according to PFF. He only missed four tackles all season. His ability to cover TEs will be a major loss. In 175 snaps in 2018, he produced a 48.3 PFF coverage grade.
