Welcome to Week 7 of The Worksheet, a comprehensive fantasy football preview, by Rich Hribar.
What is The Worksheet from Rich Hribar?
The Worksheet is a comprehensive weekly fantasy football preview for each NFL game. Rich Hribar analyzes the matchup for every notable fantasy player for every game every week of the NFL season.
It is Week 7, and the halfway point of many fantasy seasons has already arrived.
Last week was a return to the offensive depths in which we began the season.
In Week 6, we only had two teams on bye.
NFL offenses averaged 1.7 touchdowns per game, the fewest of any week this season.
Just seven teams reached their implied team total on the weekend, and only two games went over the game total.
For the season now, 60.8% of all NFL games this season have gone under the game total, the highest rate for any season through six weeks in the 2000s.
NFL passers completed just 62.2% of their passes last week, their lowest rate in a week to open the 2023 season.
They averaged just 3.9 yards per rushing attempt and 6.5 yards per pass attempt, low marks since Week 1.
For what it is worth, when we had significantly depressed output on offense back in Week 1, it was followed by an immediate bounce back to the highest-scoring week of the season.
Let’s hope we have a repeat this week and we can stack fantasy points.
This is our largest bye week of the season so far, with six teams on bye.
The Bengals, Cowboys, Panthers, Texans, Jets, and Titans are all on bye, so make sure you are prepared to juggle rosters.
This article will be updated throughout the week to reflect major news or injury implications.
I encourage you to use the game-by-game tables and data points here in conjunction with the player rankings that will be available every Wednesday and enjoy the games.
