NFL Showdown is not about who you play as much as how you play them.
Median projections are a tool in the toolbox, but they are to be trusted far less than they would be on the main slate. This is because of the large ramifications associated with a single player underproducing or overproducing relative to their projection.
The most likely outcome is only one of infinite outcomes.
When ownership dictates that the field has the game figured out, lean into builds around a different scenario.
The term “any given Sunday” should be the mantra for successfully building Showdown lineups.

Slate Breakdown
The Las Vegas Raiders are heading to Detroit to take on the Lions as 7.5-point underdogs. The total is set at 46.5.
Jimmy Garoppolo is returning from his single game absence. He is averaging a healthy 31 attempts in four full games.
While his fantasy production has been reasonable, he has consistently struggled to support Davante Adams’ lofty salary.
The Lions, on the other hand, have had no problem featuring their star receiver, but Amon-Ra St. Brown was placed on the injury report Sunday with an illness.
With St. Brown active, the Raiders top-four options look appealing even as heavy underdogs on the road. If St. Brown misses, the Lions become much easier to stack.
Injury Notes
Amon-Ra St. Brown – Illness – Questionable
David Montgomery – Ribs – Out
Las Vegas Raiders Offense
Tier 1 DFS Showdown Plays:
Josh Jacobs $8,400 –
Jacobs has handled at least 15 opportunities in each game this season. His volume is tops in the league, but his production has been lacking. He has failed to reach 100 total yards in each of his last three outings. Even still, his workload ties him with Jahmyr Gibbs for the best pairing of ability and opportunity.
Davante Adams $10,800 –
Adams' role has been inconsistent, and he has not been shy in expressing it. Fortunately, his price reflects his offense’s ineptitude to funnel him targets the way he is used to. As his frustration with Jimmy Garoppolo grows, his receptions have gone down. Each of his last three outings with Garoppolo has resulted in fewer targets than the week prior. He still carries one of the week’s highest median projections in the hopes the Raiders get back on track.
