  • The Saints have had 14 red zone possessions over the past three weeks, tied for second in the NFL.
  • New Orleans has converted 57.1% of those red zone possessions for touchdowns (15th) after a 36.8% touchdown rate prior (28th).
  • The Saints are allowing 26.0 yards per drive on defense, trailing only Cleveland (17.5) and Baltimore (23.1).
  • The Saints have allowed opponents to convert 34.1% of their third downs, fourth in the league.
  • The Vikings have allowed opponents to convert 45.2% of their third downs, 29th in the league.

Quarterback

Derek Carr: Closing last week as QB11 (16.7 points), Carr has now been a top-15 scorer in four straight games.

He has not yet reached 20 fantasy points in a week this season, so we are still working with an option that is best as a floor-based QB2 and fringe streamer in 1QB formats. But in another week with multiple starters on bye, Carr remains right in that mix of QB10-QB15.

Carr had his streak of 300-yard passing games come to an end last week, but he did complete a season-high 73.5% of his passes against the Bears.

This should be another matchup where Carr has to take underneath throws over attacking vertically.

Minnesota is allowing passers to complete 70.0% of their throws (29th) but also is allowing 6.9 yards per pass attempt (16th) and 9.9 yards per completion (fifth) because they play so much zone coverage.

Minnesota is second in the league in use of Cover-2 (22.4% of passing plays) and seventh in use of Cover-3 (39.1%).

On 165 dropbacks against those two coverages, Carr is completing 71.2% of his passes (10th) but for just 6.4 yards per attempt (28th) with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
