NFL Showdown is not about who you play as much as how you play them.
Median projections are a tool in the toolbox, but they are to be trusted far less than they would be on the main slate. This is because of the large ramifications associated with a single player underproducing or overproducing relative to their projection.
The most likely outcome is only one of infinite outcomes.
When ownership dictates that the field has the game figured out, lean into builds around a different scenario.
The term “any given Sunday” should be the mantra for successfully building Showdown lineups.

Slate Breakdown
The New York Jets are heading to Cleveland to take on the Browns as 7.5-point underdogs. The total is set at 35.
As heavy favorites, the Browns are sitting pretty as the most likely team to produce a captain.
They have at least four viable options while the Jets’ two superstars have struggled to make captain appearances all season.
Breece Hall is just $200 less than Amari Cooper, who is the most likely captain. Garrett Wilson is at least $1,000 more than both David Njoku and Jerome Ford.
This sets us up for a slate predicated around Browns’ onslaughts.
Injury Notes
- Allen Lazard – Illness – Questionable
- Greg Zuerlein – Quad – Questionable
- Amari Cooper – Heel – Questionable
- Dustin Hopkins – Hamstring – Out
New York Jets Offense
Tier 1 DFS Showdown Plays:
Breece Hall $11,000 –
Hall saw more opportunities last week than some backs have seen in the last month. His 16 targets last week bode extremely well for the type of game environment he’s expected to be in against the Browns. His only issue is cost. If locking Amari Cooper and Joe Flacco, it gets very difficult to include Hall.
Garrett Wilson $9,800 –
Wilson has a fantastic ceiling in his own right and is also set up for a positive game environment in terms of volume. Unfortunately, he is more reliant on Trevor Siemian against one of the best secondaries in the league. Either way, Wilson is the elite New York option we’re forced to build around for heavy Browns stacks due to price.
