Game Overview
Dallas comes into this one as the only undefeated team at home this season.
Not only did Dallas go 8-0 at home this season, but they also outscored their opponents by 21.5 points per game at home. They won six of those games by 20 or more points.
In Dallas, the Cowboys scored a league-high 3.15 points per drive, scoring on a league-high 58.8% of their possessions.
They had a league-high 10 more takeaways than their opponents at home.
Green Bay rallied from a 3-6 start, winning six of their final eight games to lock up the No. 7 seed.
They beat two playoff teams (the Lions and Chiefs) as part of that push over the back half of the year.
A big part of their turnaround was starting quicker than they had early in the season.
Over their opening nine games of the season, Green Bay scored just 1.02 points per drive in the first half of games, which was 31st in the league.
They were consistently in holes, being outscored by 59 points in the first half over that span, ahead of only the Patriots and Giants.
Over their final eight games, Green Bay scored 2.85 points per drive in the opening half of games (third in the NFL) and was tied with San Francisco with a +59 point differential in the first half of games.
Green Bay led at the half in six of those games.
That is big because the Packers are 1-6 this season when trailing at the half compared to 7-2 when leading at the half.
Dallas was 11-1 when leading at the half and 1-4 when trailing at the break, so the start of this game is going to be vital.
This game also features two of the best teams collectively on third downs.
Dallas has converted 10.9% more third downs than their opponents, second in the NFL behind the Bills.
Green Bay has converted 6.2% more third downs than their opponents, fifth in the league.
