Quarterback
Matthew Stafford: Stafford comes out of the bye without a QB1 scoring week on the year and just one week finishing higher than QB20.
He currently has a 1.7% touchdown rate, ahead of only Jacoby Brissett (1.5%) among qualified passers.
He has thrown 4.4 touchdowns below expectations, the 2nd-lowest in the league.
Stafford has a career 4.6% touchdown rate.
We saw something from him last year before regressing and getting hot to close the season.
Stafford's touchdown rate through nine games last year was 2.9%, then 7.1% to close the season.
As the Rams get healthier, Stafford should get rolling.
That could start as early as this week if the team can get Cooper Kupp back on the field.
Since that is up in the air, and Stafford doesn’t run, he is only a matchup-based QB2.
But this is a good matchup for Stafford to be better exiting the bye, with or without Kupp.
The Raiders are 19th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.430) and a 4.4% touchdown rate (21st) to passers.
Aidan O’Connell: O’Connell was QB25 (11.1 points) in his first start of the season on Sunday.
He completed 27-of-40 (67.5%) of his passes for 227 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
He has now made 11 starts and has two QB1 scoring weeks.
We are not starting O’Connell as more than a matchup-based QB2 option, but this is a lighter spot for him than a week ago.
He will surely draw some interest as a punt option in DFS since he can be stacked with Brock Bowers.
The Rams are allowing the most passing points per attempt (0.643).
They have allowed a league-high 9 yards per pass attempt and a 7.8% touchdown rate.
