Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers: Things got off to a good start for Rodgers and this passing game on Sunday night, but then things deteriorated.

Rodgers was 13-of-19 for 8.3 yards per pass attempt with a touchdown in the first half against Pittsburgh, but a late interception to close the first half was a massive swing in the game.

The Jets were up 15-6 and looking to “double dip” getting the ball after halftime.

This offense never recovered.

Rodgers was then 11-of-20 for 5.9 Y/A with an interception in the second half, and the Jets did not get back into the end zone.

The Jets got away from the things they incorporated into Week 6 and the start of the game.

After using pre-snap motion on 45% of the dropbacks in the first half on Sunday, that rate dropped down to 25% in the second half.

After using play-action on a season-high 31.4% of the dropbacks in Week 6, that rate was 17.9% on Sunday.

Rodgers has been a QB1 scorer in two of his seven games this season and has had a high-scoring week as QB10.

He is best used as a floor-based QB2, but this is a good matchup for him to deliver in that capacity.

His highest-scoring game this season came earlier against the Patriots when he completed a season-high 77.1% of his throws for 8.0 Y/A with 2 touchdowns.

New England has been a soft pass defense this season, ranking 21st in passing points allowed per attempt (0.429).

Drake Maye: Maye has been a solid injection into this offense and fantasy circles.

He has kicked off his career with QB12 (19.5 points) and QB6 (20.8 points) scoring weeks against the Texans and Jaguars.

Maye has completed 65.7% of his passes (QB16) for 7.4 yards per attempt (QB14) the past two weeks with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

He has added 38 and 18 rushing yards in those games.

The counting stats have been there, but this offense still has sputtered at times in both games.

Maye was 8-of-10 for 87 yards (8.7 Y/A) and a touchdown in the first quarter on Sunday then was 7-of-12 for 33 yards (2.8 Y/A) over the next two quarters before putting together another scoring drive with the game out of hand to boost his stats.

It looks like Maye will be a viable QB2 with added upside for the rest of the season, which is more than welcome.

This is not as clear as a streaming spot for Maye as last week, leaving him as an upside QB2 over a locked-in starter in 1QB formats.

If he hits again here, we will revisit things.

This Jets defense had its worst game of the year on Sunday night and is banged up, but it can still rush the passer and has not allowed a ton of spike weeks.

The Jets are fifth in the league in pressure rate (40.1% of dropbacks) and pressured New England passers on 48.6% of their dropbacks when these teams played in Week 3.

Under pressure, Maye is 9-of-19 (47.4%) for 6.3 Y/A compared to 41-of-59 (69.5%) for 7.1 Y/A from a clean pocket.

When the Jets have generated pressure, they have allowed a 42.6% completion rate (5th) and 5.6 Y/A (11th).
