- The Bears are the only team in the league that has not scored first in any game this season.
- The Patriots are 0-5 when the opponent scores first.
- The Bears have allowed a touchdown on 15.1% of opponent drives, 3rd in the league.
- Chicago games average 373.4 combined passing yards per game, 31st in the NFL.
- The Bears average 5.0 yards per passing play, 30th in the league.
- The Patriots average 4.4 yards per passing play (4.9 with Drake Maye), 31st in the league.
- Chicago has converted 31.5% (34-of-108) of their third downs, ahead of only the Browns (28.7%).
Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Drake Maye: Clearing concussion protocol last week, Maye ended the week as QB20 (15.7 points).
He had a nondescript passing game, throwing for 5.0 yards per attempt with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions (although the touchdown was magic), but Maye added 95 yards rushing to bolster his afternoon as a viable QB2.
Maye is the QB14 in points per dropback (0.49), scoring at least 15 fantasy points in his three complete games.
This is a spot where I would prefer to use him as a floor-based QB2.
Maye will have to use his legs here.
The Bears have been a stingy opponent for quarterback points.
They are third in passing points allowed per attempt (0.300) and have allowed a league-low 9.2 passing points per game.
Caleb Williams: Williams has exited the bye with weeks as the QB28 (9.3 points) and QB29 (9.2 points).
He has two weeks as a top-six scorer this season and five weeks as the QB22 or lower (with a QB14 week peppered in).
Offensive line play has been a significant issue for Williams.
He was pressured on 42% of his dropbacks on Sunday after a 62.5% rate in Week 8.
Last week came against an Arizona defense that had not been getting after the quarterback, which is concerning.
When pressured this season, Williams has completed 43.1% (31-of-72) of his passes for 5.1 yards per pass attempt.
Williams is a boom-or-bust QB2, but his two spike weeks have come in favorable matchups against the Panthers and Jaguars.
The Patriots are close to that company.
They are 28th in pressure rate (Arizona is 29th even after last week, for what is worth), while Jacksonville is 27th and Carolina is dead last.
The Patriots just allowed 17.5 fantasy points to Mason Rudolph.
They have allowed at least 15 fantasy points to four straight quarterbacks and are 21st in passing points allowed per attempt (0.453).
