Quarterback

Sam Darnold: Darnold crashed and burned on Sunday in Jacksonville.

He closed the week as QB25 (6.4 points), his second-lowest scoring week of the season.

Darnold threw 0 touchdowns for only the second time this season while throwing 3 interceptions.

Sunday was only Darnold’s second week this season in the back half of weekly scoring, so we will not say he has turned back into a pumpkin.

But after throwing for 8.8 yards per pass attempt with 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in September, Darnold has thrown for 7.8 Y/A with 6 touchdowns and 7 interceptions since.

Turnovers and sacks are still Darnold’s primary bugaboo.

Over his past six games, Darnold is tied for the most turnover-worthy plays (12) among quarterbacks.

Over that same span, Darnold has been sacked on 9.4% of his dropbacks, 30th in the league.

This is a more challenging spot to use Darnold as more than a floor-based QB2.

This season, Tennessee has held its own on the defensive side of the coin.

They are 10th in passing points allowed per game (11.7).

Even in allowing a QB1 scoring week to Justin Herbert on Sunday, they only allowed 10.6 passing points.

They are second in yards allowed per completed pass (9.7).

They have allowed a 4.8% touchdown rate (21st) as an inroad for Darnold, who has multiple passing touchdowns in six games this season.

Will Levis: Making his first start since Week 6, Levis ended last week as the QB8 (19.1 points).

It was not a squeaky clean game, aided by a late-game cosmetic touchdown, but Levis did complete a season-high 78.3% of his passes while matching a season-high with 7.6 yards per pass attempt.

Levis added a season-high 41 yards as a rusher.

We will not push Levis as more than a QB2 option, but between Levis and Mason Rudolph, Tennessee quarterbacks have given 2QB gamers three consecutive usable fantasy weeks.

The issue with chasing last week’s final numbers is that Tennessee again has one of the lowest team totals on the week paired with a tougher draw against a Minnesota defense that will throw a lot at Levis.

Minnesota is second in the NFL in blitz rate (38.2%).

Levis has a 57.0 rating against the blitz this season, which ranks 33rd out of 35 qualifying passers.

When blitzed, Levis has thrown for 4.4 Y/A (33rd).
