Chase Claypool had a rough 2022.
After falling out with the Steelers, Claypool was traded to the Bears for a second-round pick midway through the season.
He did next to nothing in Chicago, catching just 14 passes in seven games and only managing to bring in 48.3% of his targets.
Those numbers look bad enough, but Warren Sharp shared an even more damning look at Claypool's 2022.
the Steelers traded Chase Claypool to the Bears mid season
PIT was 2-6 with him, 7-2 without him
CHI was 0-9 with him, 3-6 without him
both passing attacks were much more efficient without Claypool
CHI before trading for Claypool: 7.5 YPA
CHI w Claypool on the field: 5.5 YPA

It was not just that Claypool did not produce a ton for either team. These numbers suggest he was actively hurting both offenses.
To be fair to Claypool, he reportedly struggled to learn the playbook following the trade, and Bears OC Luke Getsy recently said the receiver is in “a much better place” than when he joined the team last season.
After shelling out a second-round pick for him, the Bears need to see a big jump from Claypool in 2023.
