We got a taste of NFL football on Thursday night with the Buffalo Bills beatdown of the defending Super Bowl champions.
With 14 games scheduled for Sunday, and an additional contest slated for Monday, we're only a few days away from the NFL season being in full swing.
With that in mind, it's important to keep an eye on these practice reports to see what key NFL players might be missing or limited in this weekend's action due to injuries.
Also, be sure to bookmark our NFL Injured Reserve Tracker which will be updated weekly throughout the season.

Hurst started 10 games at left tackle for the Saints last year, including a Week 18 matchup against the Falcons where he earned a season-high 90.1 pass-blocking grade on Pro Football Focus.
– The biggest question for New Orleans is the health of Michael Thomas. The former All Pro led the NFL in receptions in 2018 and 2019, but hasn't played since suffering an ankle injury in 2020.
Thomas is currently dealing with a hamstring injury that has limited him in practice in recent weeks. Jameis Winston will have to rely on Jarvis Landry and rookie Chris Olave if Thomas is absent.

Following a midseason trade from Philadelphia, Flacco saw action in two games for the Jets last season, completing 64 percent of his passes and averaging 8.05 yards per attempt.
This will be his first game against the Ravens after spending 11 years in Baltimore.
– Blocking Flacco's blindside will be George Fant, who moves back to left tackle with Duane Brown on the shelf with a shoulder injury.
Fant spent 840 snaps at left tackle last season, allowing just one sack and 14 quarterback pressures. He will be replaced on the right side of the line by rookie Max Mitchell.
Mitchell was a fourth-round pick in April and started two preseason games at right tackle, allowing three pressures and earning a 47.8 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus.

– Complicating matters further is the health of tight end Zach Ertz, who has been dealing with a calf injury for over a month now. Ertz led the Cardinals in targets and receptions after he was acquired from the Eagles in a midseason trade last year.
Rookie second-round pick Trey McBride could get his first-career start if Ertz sits. The Colorado State product had 90 catches for 1121 yards as a senior in 2021.

Bakhtiari is still working back from an injury he suffered in the 2020 postseason, but was arguably the best left tackle in the NFL prior to that, earning first or second team All Pro nods in the previous five seasons.
– Allen Lazard was presumed to be the Packers top wide receiver this season, but he will likely miss Week 1 after sitting out practice for the past two weeks due to an ankle injury.
Rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs could compete for snaps opposite Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb on Sunday with Lazard out.
It's also worth noting Watkins has 20 catches for 376 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1 over the past three seasons.

With fellow edge rusher Azeez Ojulari also listed as doubtful, it could be difficult for the Giants to generate pressure with Jihad Ward and Tomon Fox as their primary edge rushers against Tennessee.
New York ranked 29th in pressure rate last season, but the addition of Wink Martindale should add some aggressive to their scheme. His Ravens blitzed at the sixth-highest rate in 2021.

Davis was the Chargers' most-targeted defender a year ago, yielding a 55-percent completion percentage and 13.0 yards per reception.
Callahan was the NFL's best slot corner in 2020, but injuries slowed him in 2021 and he allowed a career-worst passer rating of 97.4 when targeted, over 50 points higher than his passer rating allowed the year prior.

– As for Chris Godwin, he is questionable after shedding his knee brace and non-contact jersey in practice this week.
He is returning from a torn ACL at the end of last season. Prior to the injury, Godwin was averaging a career-high 7.0 receptions per game.
Scotty Miller can handle the slot receiver duties if Godwin is held out on Sunday.
