As 2020 rolls on, we enter the craziest week of the season, at least from a scheduling perspective. As of Thursday night, Week 5 will contain both a Monday Night Football doubleheader and the first Tuesday night game in over a decade.
In an ever-changing league, staying healthy remains a key part of being successful. With that in mind, here is a comprehensive breakdown of who could be limited or out this weekend:

Injured Reserve: DB Damontae Kazee, Achilles; CB Darqueze Dennard, hamstring.
- The Falcons secondary was torched by Aaron Rodgers on MNF with both starting Safeties Ricardo Allen and Keanu Neal out for that game. During the game Safety Damontae Kazee was carted off and backup Safety Jaylinn Hawkins left with a concussion. Kazee was put on IR and Allen, Neal and Hawkins are questionable going into Sunday. Backups Sharrod Neasman and Jamal Carter filled in for much of that game on Monday and not surprisingly were picked apart. While in coverage, Carter allowed all 4 of the targets while in coverage to be caught for 73 yards and a Robert Tonyan TD. Carter received an insanely low 25.4 coverage grade by PFF while Neasman registered a 47.
- Julio Jones was limited on MNF and barely was effective with only 4 receptions for 32 yards on 11 routes. On a short week it is hard to imagine that even if Jones plays, that he will be highly effective. Backup Olamide Zaccheaus stepped in and caught 8 for 86 yards on 9 targets. Calvin Ridley also played hurt on Monday and didn’t catch a pass. It will be interesting to see how hampered he will be as well.
- DE Takk McKinley missed the last two games and is questionable for Sunday. He is important as he has registered 8 pressures on only 36 pass rush snaps. Backups Steven Means and Charles Harris have filled in and 7 pressures on 73 pass rush snaps the last two games.

Injured Reserve: CB DJ Hayden, Hamstring; LB Leon Jacobs, knee; K Josh Lambo, hip; TE Josh Oliver, foot; S Jarrod Wilson, hamstring.
- Starting slot CB DJ Hayden was put on IR and CJ Henderson was limited in practice. Hayden has been atrocious this season so not sure it’s a big loss. Hayden ranks 91st out of 93 CBs in coverage grade, 84th in QB rating allowed in coverage while allowing receivers to catch 83% of passes when targeted. Henderson would be a much bigger loss as he ranks in the top 40 among 93 CBs in completion percentage allowed, coverage grade and QB rating. Tre Herndon would take over the slot rule and the 3 year man has had poor pass coverage grades since his rookie season, never posting a grade above 54.1. Last season, Herndon allowed the 4th highest yards per reception figure at 17.4 among all NFL CBs. Herndon is also a notoriously bad tackler as he ranked bottom 20 among CBs last year in tackling efficiency and currently ranks 93rd among 118 CBs in tackling this season. Rookie 7th round pick Chris Claybrooks would replace Henderson if he is out. Claybrooks has allowed 1 TD and 5 of 6 targets to be caught so far.
- Josh Allen not playing would be a big hit for the Jaguars pass rush as he by far has generated the most pressures on the team with 13. Allen currently is graded as the 17th best edge rusher in the NFL according to PFF. His backup would be rookie K’Laivon Chaisson who has 2 total pressures and 1 sack on 80 dropbacks this season. Chaisson has been horrible defending the run so far, grading out as the 5th worst run defender among all NFL edge rushers.
- If potentially losing Allen wasn’t bad enough, star LB Myles Jack is questionable as well. Jack is the #1 overall graded LB this season by PFF, 2nd best in run defense and 3rd best in both pass coverage and pass rush. Backup LB Leon Jacobs is already on IR leaving 2nd year 7th round pick Dakota Allen as his replacement. Allen played the first game of his career last week, posting a team low 29.1 defensive grade. This could potentially be as big a dropoff between any two players in the league on Sunday.

- Getting back two guys in the secondary, Budda Baker and Dre Kirkpatrick, is huge after seeing what Carolina did to them in the pass game last week.
- The Cardinals don’t have a great pass rush to begin with so losing Devon Kennard last week was a big blow. The Cards produced only 5 total pressures and zero sacks on Teddy Bridgewater. As mentioned last week, Kennard leads the team in pressures and is 2nd in pressure rate. Jordan Phillips, is questionable and would continue to hurt the Cardinals front 7.

- The biggest injuries for the Jets come in the way of QB Sam Darnold and LT Mekhi Becton. Becton has been the lone bright spot on an otherwise pitiful OL. He is top 25 among Tackles in PFF grade and has only allowed 5 pressures on the season. The rest of the starting OL has allowed nearly 50 pressures. Filling in will be Chuma Edoga, who has allowed 4 pressures on only 41 dropbacks. He has struggled protecting the QB but has been excellent as a run blocker this year after posting poor run grades last season. Old and slow Joe Flacco gets to take over under center for the Jets on Sunday with the worst OL in the NFL. Good luck to him.

- The good news is Cincinnati welcomes the return of DT Geno Atkins this week. He will help out both in the run game as well in pass rush.
- Slot CB Mackensie Alexander is out. Alexander has really struggled this year, ranking 89th out of 93 CBs in completion percentage at 83% and 72nd in yards per attempt allowed. Leshun Simms will take over in the slot. Simms hasn’t been much better this year, allowing 9.5 yards per attempt with a 77% catch rate. Simms has allowed at least a 71% catch rate in each of the last four seasons.
- RB Joe Mixon popped up on the injury report again with a shin injury but after last week’s performance following a late add to the injury list, It would be shocking if he didn’t play.

- The Ravens injury list is loaded with players so I will focus only on those who are truly questionable or out. CBs Marcus Peters and Jimmy Smith were both limited all week. The top CB spot is locked up by Marlon Humphrey but Anthony Averett is next up at CB. Averett has allowed 11 receptions on 14 targets in coverage for 137 yards and a 107 QB rating. Peters has struggled this season but would be missed.
- 3rd round rookie Guard Tyre Philips is out Sunday. Philips has been pretty bad so far as a rookie, ranking 81st in run blocking, 78th in pass blocking and 63rd in pressure rank among 87 Guards. Next on the depth chart would be veteran DJ Fluker.
- Steady veteran DL Derek Wolfe is questionable with an elbow injury. He ranks 6th on the team in pressures but is a solid defensive lineman. Veteran Brandon Williams will start in his place.
- TE Mark Andrews has been limited all week and would obviously be a blow to this passing game. Veteran Nick Boyle would start in his place and has caught 5 passes for 28 yards and 1 TD this season.

Four year veteran Julie’n Davenport takes over. Davenport has been awful as a pass protector throughout his career, posting a terrible 8.9 pressure rate.
- The biggest loss for Miami this week comes in the way of Shaq Lawson. Shaq is tied for 2nd on the team in pressures with 11. Andrew Van Ginkel takes over and has produced 3 sacks on 147 pass rushes in his 1.5 seasons.

- The Niners welcome back Jimmy Garrapolo, Dre Greenlaw and potentially Raheem Mostert to the lineup. However, the secondary is beat up. Dontae Johnson, Emmanuel Moseley and slot CB K’Waun Williams are out. When you include Richard Sherman to the mix, the Niners will be without their three highest graded coverage CBs. Ahkello Witherspoon would start, however, he is Questionable as well. Jason Verrett is the only guaranteed starter at CB and he has performed well in limited snaps this season. He hasn’t played full time snaps since 2015 and 2016 when he was one of the better coverage CBs in the NFL. Next up would be 2nd year man Ken Webster. Last year in Miami, Webster recorded a poor 47.3 pass coverage grade but only allowed 15 of 26 targets to be caught. The issue was the 14.3 yards per reception he allowed.

- The Colts defense has been the best in the NFL so far but losing LB Darius Leonard as well as having injuries to Bobby Okereke and Anthony Walker is a problem. Leonard grades out in the top 6 among LBs in rush defense, pass coverage and overall grades. He’s also top 10 in the NFL in percentage of stops behind the line of scrimmage. Walker isn’t as good as Leonard defending the run but he’s an excellent coverage LB who has graded out as a top 16 pass coverage LB the last two seasons. Okereke will play but he will do so with a broken thumb and a cast on his hand. Obviously tackling is an issue. There is not a ton of depth for the Colts at LB but next man up is 3rd year man Zaire Franklin. Franklin hasn’t played many snaps since his 2018 rookie season which saw him getting torched in coverage. That season he allowed 14 of 16 targets to be caught for 164 yards.
- Starting LT Anthony Castonzo is one of the better LT in the NFL and will be missing this game as well. This season he ranks 33rd among tackles in pressure rate allowed and 18th in pass blocking grade. He was the #7 overall Tackle according to PFF last season. His backup is Leraven Clark who played a bunch of LT in 2018 and was just ok. He allowed a 6% pressure rate & 2 sacks allowed on 235 pass blocking snaps in 2018.

- RB Nick Chubb is on IR but the Browns run game is in great hands with former rushing champion Kareem Hunt taking over full time duties. Hunt ranks 4th in the NFL in success rate, is 2nd in explosive run percentage and #2 in PFF’s elusive rating.
- On defense, the Browns will be missing starting DL Larry Ogunjobi. who ranks #7 among all NFL DL in run defense grade. He also is tied for 3rd on the team in pressures. Rookie Jordan Elliot will take his spot in the lineup. Elliot has a poor 58.1 PFF run grade with only 1 pressure on 75 dropbacks.

- Seattle played last week’s game against Miami with a decimated secondary. Jamal Adams is definitely out again as well as backup CB Neiko Thorpe. SS Lano Hill and starting CB Quinton Dunbar are both Questionable. Assuming all of these guys are out, I expect the same starting lineup as last week. That secondary allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw for 315 yards with a 64% completion percentage, 2 INTs and a 58% success rate. You would expect Kirk Cousins to be able to take advantage.
