Trust = spike production for that player
Bust = down-week production for that player’s standards
Quarterback
Justin Fields: Fields has now made five starts and has scored single-digit points in all but one with a high of 13.3 points. Not much of anything has gone right for this offense or Fields, If grasping for any hope, Fields has completed 23-of-35 passes (65.7%) for 7.5 Y/A using play-action compared to a 54.2% completion rate and 5.8 Y/A without, but the Bears have had Fields use play-action in 26.6% of his dropbacks, which ranks 19th in the league.
The San Francisco defense is the worst defense the Bears have faced in terms of pressure rate (21.6%, which is 23rd), but they also haven’t faced the Bears yet to help those numbers out. We need a complete identity shift offensively and Fields to show us some promise of a ceiling to start trusting Fields as more than a 2QB dart throw.
