Quarterback

Brock Purdy: Purdy just keeps answering all questions thrown at him and knocking down obstacles.

Sunday Night was arguably the most impressive game for him so far as he appears to be manufacturing his success in this system.

Purdy lit up the Dallas defense for 10.5 yards per pass attempt and four touchdowns. Closing as the QB6 (26.1 points), Purdy has now been a QB1 scorer in four of five games this season and has scored 20 or more fantasy points in three straight games.

With some concerns about handling the Dallas pressure, Purdy was only pressured on eight dropbacks Sunday Night. On those plays, he still threw two of his touchdowns.

When Dallas did not get home, Purdy did what he has always done when kept clean, connecting on 13-of-17 passes for 9.6 Y/A and two more scores.

When Purdy has not been pressured, he leads the NFL in completion rate (82.6%), yards per pass attempt (10.6 Y/A), and passer rating 129.0.

We know this Cleveland defense is good, but we are still trying to figure out where exactly they land on the spectrum of good defenses.

After opening the season against Joe Burrow off his injury in the rain, Kenny Pickett, and Ryan Tannehill, the last time we saw the Browns, they allowed Lamar Jackson to complete 78.9% of his passes for 9.8 yards per pass attempt.

We are already riding with Purdy at this point after torching Dallas, but this matchup should provide further clarity on how seriously we need to take Cleveland against more viable fantasy QB1 options.

One thing to note early in the week is that outside of the Cleveland defense, Vegas is pricing in some weather concerns for this game, which you can see reflected in the team total for San Francisco.

It is too early in the week to be overly concerned with weather issues, but we will keep track of things heading into the weekend.
