Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford: Stafford is coming out of the bye as the QB31 in points per game (11.0), just ahead of Baker Mayfield. Over his opening six games, Stafford has one scoring week higher than QB20.
One of those low-scoring weeks came against the 49ers, when Stafford was the QB28. In that Week 4 game, Stafford threw for a season-low 5.3 yards per pass attempt. He was sacked a season-high seven times. His average depth of target that night was just 5.1 yards downfield, higher than just two passers that week.
In four games with the Rams against the 49ers, Stafford is averaging 6.5 yards per pass attempt with six touchdowns and six interceptions. He has taken 16 sacks in those games and pressured on 33.3% of his dropbacks.
How the Rams used the bye week to recalibrate things offensively will be one of the biggest things we are looking for this weekend. Stafford is a QB2 option, with this week providing a good test of if this offense can restore some fantasy faith moving forward.
Last week, we talked about how the San Francisco defense had yet to punch up a weight class this season. There is no shame in getting cooked by Mahomes, but it was the second top-five scoring fantasy quarterback they have allowed in a row.
