Motivation or Rest Alert
Both of these teams have been eliminated from the postseason. Follow news from either team on holding anyone out of the seasonal finale but expect both teams to play things out with a pair of head coaches potentially in their final game with their teams.
Quarterback
Kirk Cousins: Cousins missed Week 17 due to COVID, which played a large role in this week not meaning anything for the Vikings. Prior to missing last week, Cousins had gone three straight games without a QB1 performance, his longest stretch this season. That includes a QB22 (10.5 points) finish in Week 15 against the Bears on the road on Monday night. Cousins did bounce back with 8.3 Y/A and 315 yards while he completed 71.1% of his passes in Week 16 against the Rams as a silver lining to this down stretch.
Cousins will look to finish the season strong against a Bears team that is 30th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.51), 25th in yards allowed per pass attempt (7.4 Y/A), and dead last in touchdown rate (6.2%) to opposing passers to offer matchup appeal as a higher-end QB2.
