  • The Chargers have allowed the most points in the second half this season (15.7 per game) in the league.
  • The Broncos have a +38 point differential, the largest by a team with a losing record at this stage of the season.
  • Denver ran 40 offensive plays last week, the fewest for a team in a game this season and tied for their second-fewest in a game as a franchise.
  • The Chargers are allowing a league-high 51.1% conversion rate on third down. League average is 40.2%.

Quarterback

Justin Herbert: It was a game that he surely wants back, but in throwing for 336 yards, 9.6 yards per attempt with a touchdown and 15 rushing yards, Herbert was able to salvage a QB11 (16.9 points) scoring week. Although it was a backend performance, Herbert now has strung together six consecutive QB1 scoring weeks.

That includes another backdoor QB1 scoring week when these teams first played in Week 12 (19.7 points). In that matchup, Herbert threw for 303 yards and a pair of scores to go along with 36 rushing yards, but he also threw a pair of interceptions.

Denver has allowed 12.1 passing points per game (third) and has not allowed a top-six scorer week by a passer this season. We are still handling Herbert as a QB1 option, but it is hard to project a ceiling performance.
