Quarterback

Justin Herbert: Herbert is coming off a season-low 228 passing yards and a QB17 (14.4 points) scoring week, his second week over three weeks outside of QB1 territory. The Chargers ran the ball effectively while stalling out in the red zone and settling for field goals multiple times or things could have been better here. Through five weeks, Herbert still has scored over 20 fantasy points three times.

He does run into a tougher matchup here as Denver is allowing 0.28 passing points per attempt (third) and 9.4 passing points per game (third). Denver has not faced a strong slate of quarterbacks, so apply necessary grains of salt here, but they also were fifth in passing points allowed per game in 2021 (12.8).

Herbert did not smash in these spots a year ago, but still was more than fine. He logged weeks as the QB8 (19.7 points) and the QB11 (17.7 points), so you can temper expectations for a ceiling week, but keep Herbert in play as a QB1.
