  • The Buccaneers are first in the league in points per play (.637) while the Rams are fourth (.555) to start the season.
  • Tom Brady has thrown multiple passing touchdowns in 13 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the league. He has thrown three or more touchdowns in four straight, dating back to last season.
  • Brady has opened the season 14-of-19 passing (73.7%) with seven passing touchdowns in the red zone.
  • Rob Gronkowski is the first tight end to catch multiple touchdown passes in the opening two weeks of the season since Ben Coates in 1994.
  • Matthew Stafford already has three passing touchdowns on throws over 15 yards from the line of scrimmage. Jared Goff had three all of 2020.
  • Stafford has used play-action on 33.9% of his dropbacks (seventh) after just 23.7% in 2020 (27th). With the use of play-action, Stafford is 16-of-18 passing for 267 yards (14.8 Y/A) and two touchdowns.

Trust = spike production for that player
Bust = down-week production for that player’s standards

Quarterback

Tom Brady: Brady has picked up right where left off last season, throwing nine touchdown passes. Those nine touchdowns are tied for the second-most through the first two games of a season and are the most Brady has had in the opening two weeks of any season he’s played.

Brady carved two of the worst pass defenses that we will be targeted all season long with worse players than the GOAT, but now he draws his first real test against the Rams.

When these teams met a year ago, Brady had his worst completion rate (54.2%) and lowest yards per pass attempt (4.5 Y/A) as he closed as the QB19 (12.6 points). Brady ended that game 26-of-48 for 216 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Rams have opened the year allowing 0.26 passing points per attempt (third), but have faced Andy Dalton and Carson Wentz. I would not outright stream for Brady given his wealth of playmakers, but if you were to pick a spot where he could let down from his early-season expectations, this would be one.
