Trust = spike production for that player
Bust = down-week production for that player’s standards
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts: We finally got to see how Hurts would do in a spot where the Eagles did not have to chase points and it was his lowest scoring game of the season, with 11.2 fantasy points and attempting just 14 passes. Hurts still ran for 71 yards and had multiple attempts to score on the ground before Eagles running backs carried in four touchdowns of their own.
Even with that onslaught last week, the Eagles are still 21st in the league in percentage of offensive snaps with a lead in the game (28.8%) and are still fifth in the rate of snaps trailing (59.2%). We can keep last week in mind for future environments with the Eagles against bottom-end teams, but they are likely back to being pressed on the scoreboard this week.
This game has a similar layout to what we saw in Week 7 when the Eagles faced the Raiders. Hurts is going to see a lot of zone coverage against a Chargers defense that is mid-pack in completion rate allowed (65.9%) but is eighth in yards allowed per attempt (6.9 Y/A) and 10th in touchdown rate (4.1%) allowed to passers. In that Week 7 game against Las Vegas, Hurts completed just 52.9% of his passes, which was the second-lowest rate on the season, but he still got there for fantasy (23.5 points) thanks to 61 rushing yards and late-game production. Hurts is back in play as a QB1 as an underdog, but the passing matchup is one of the toughest he has had, forcing us to rely on rushing and potential late-game heroics again for points.
