Quarterback
Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes has now been a QB1 scorer in two of his past seven games, with each coming against the Raiders. The Chiefs faced two-high safeties just 28% and 24% against Las Vegas in those games, the only two times they have seen two-high safety looks on fewer than 40% of their snaps. When these teams met back in Week 3, the Chargers had two-high safety looks on 30 of Mahomes’s 50 dropbacks. Against those looks in that game, Mahomes was 12-of-26 passing 128 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions compared to completing 15-of-18 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns against other looks.
At the end of the day, Mahomes did close that week as the QB7 and with 22.9 fantasy points. The Chargers have allowed 18.0 fantasy per game to opposing passers over their past six games with a QB1 scorer in five of those games, leaving Mahomes as a front-end QB1 option with upside in a potential shootout.
