Quarterback

Sam Howell: Howell threw for a season-low 151 yards and only had 6.6 yards per pass attempt on Sunday, but on the back of three touchdown passes, he once again got there for fantasy.

Howell has now been the QB13 or higher in five of six games this season and in six of his seven career starts.

It is not always pretty, but the results for fantasy have been steady. Howell has lived as a high-end QB2 and fringe QB1.

We always look at how an opponent of the Giants handles the blitz since they are fourth in the NFL in blitz rate (38.3%) despite dialing things down last week against Josh Allen.

I assume Wink Martindale will go back to being aggressive in this spot. Howell did not start either game against New York in 2022, but the Giants blitzed on 32.1% of dropbacks against Washington, the second-highest blitz rate that Washington faced in 2022.

Howell has only been blitzed on 21.6% of his dropbacks this season (sixth lowest), but when he has been blitzed, he has completed 66.7% of his passes (seventh) for 6.1 yards per pass attempt (26th) with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

If the Giants can get home, Howell has thrown four of his six interceptions under pressure.

As a whole, the Giants are in the middle of the league, allowing 13.2 passing points per game (16th), but that is somewhat masked by facing the fourth-fewest pass attempts per game.

On a per-throw basis, the Giants are 25th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.443).
