Week 11 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is in my player pool that weekend for DFS.

This article series covers exactly that.

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Quarterback

Brock Purdy ($6,600 DraftKings/$8,400 FanDuel)

Purdy has ripped off four straight QB1 scoring weeks with three closing as the QB6 or higher.

The start of that QB1 run came in Seattle back in Week 6.

Purdy scored 24.1 points in the first matchup between these teams, matching a season high with 3 touchdown passes.

Purdy is still averaging 8.8 yards per attempt this season (second behind Lamar Jackson).

He is fourth in the NFL in red zone pass attempts (50) and fourth in passes thrown into the end zone (28).

Seattle faces a league-high 5.7 red zone passes per game.

The Seahawks have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in five of their past six games.

Justin Herbert ($7,300 FanDuel)

Over the past four weeks, Herbert has completed 68.1% of his passes (QB11) for 9.3 yards per pass attempt (QB3).

He has still only thrown 1 interception this season.

Herbert has reeled off three straight QB1 games for fantasy but is the QB14 in pricing this week on FanDuel.

Another added element for Herbert is that he is running more.

He started the season with a preseason foot injury and suffered an ankle injury early on.

Those appear to be behind him.

Herbert has games with 49 and 32 rushing yards over his past three games.

The Bengals have allowed a league-high 33.6 rushing yards per game to quarterbacks.

In 10 games, they have allowed 29 or more rushing yards to eight different quarterbacks.

The Chargers pulled back on the passing volume last week (18 attempts) in another one-sided game, but we should expect the Bengals to push them this week.

If that happens, Herbert will attack a Cincinnati pass defense we have targeted.

The Bengals are 28th in passing points allowed per game (15.0) on top of all of the rushing they have allowed.

Russell Wilson ($5,900/$7,800)

Wilson has been a top-10 scorer in two of his three games since taking over as the starter.

He is averaging 9.9 air yards per attempt, second in the NFL since Week 7.

He has attempted 17.6% of his passes 20 or more yards downfield (4th).

The Steelers have been running heavily under Wilson, but that should change here.

Pittsburgh has a 46.6% dropback rate since Wilson took over (31st) and has thrown the ball 9% below expectations.

No team faces a lower run rate than the Ravens.

This is partly because they are often leading games and partly because their run defense is so good.

Baltimore faces a league-high 39.7 pass attempts per game.

On those attempts, they are allowing 7.9 yards per attempt (29th) and a 5.3% touchdown rate (24th), leading to them ranking 27th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.503).

The Ravens have faced a league-high 53 red zone passes this season.

Baltimore has been a worse pass defense on the road, too.

They have allowed 8.7 Y/A (29th) and 6.9% touchdown rate (27th) in away games.
