Week 15 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is in my player pool that weekend for DFS.

This article series covers exactly that.

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Week 15 DFS Content:

Best Game Stacks

Our core players are the players we will have the most exposure to at their positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments.

I will analyze the player selections and game writeups, but for a detailed breakdown of the players and games, check out the Week 15 Worksheet.

Quarterback

Josh Allen ($8,500 DraftKings/$9,500 FanDuel)

The Bills have scored 30 or more points in seven straight games, and everything runs through Allen.

He has passing upside as a road underdog, but this spot also has a foundation for rushing points.

Allen now has six rushing touchdowns over his past four games after only rushing for one touchdown over his previous eight games.

Allen rushed for 23.4 yards per game in Weeks 1-9 this year, with one game hitting 50 yards.

Since then, he has had games of 50, 55, 18, and 82 yards rushing.

Detroit is 26th in rushing yards allowed to quarterbacks (24.9 per game).

In the previous two seasons under Aaron Glenn, they were 30th in rushing yards allowed to quarterbacks in 2023 (24.7 per game) and dead last in 2022 (41.2 per game).

No team plays more man coverage (41.3%) than Detroit, and they blitz on 31% of dropbacks, which is 6th in the league.

Not only does that allow Allen to create more with his legs, but he has wide splits against man and zone coverage this season.

Against man coverage, Allen has a 13.8% touchdown rate (2nd).

Kyler Murray ($6,000/$7,800)

This season has been an up-and-down ride with Murray, but if you are a subscriber to the site (you are), you have avoided mainly the spots where he has been a popular DFS option.

That is because Murray has had a dreadful layout, something we have called out early in the season when I labeled him a sell.

Since Week 5, he has faced the 49ers, Packers, Chargers, Dolphins, Bears, Jets, Seahawks (x2), and Vikings.

He also faced the Bills and Lions in two of his opening four games.

Not one of those teams is in the back half of the league in passing points allowed per attempt.

The Patriots are 27th in that department (0.490 points per attempt).

New England is 24th in passing points allowed per game (15.1) and has allowed a top-10 scorer in three straight games to Matthew Stafford (27.8 points), Tua Tagovailoa (28.5 points), and Anthony Richardson (21.2 points).

New England has allowed multiple passing touchdowns in five of their past six games.

We are backing Murray as a home favorite against the softest pass defense he has played since the beginning of the year.
