  • The Rams have been outscored by 50 points (13-to-63) in the first quarter of this season, the worst margin in the league.
  • The Eagles have allowed a league-low 1.05 points per drive since their Week 5 bye after allowing 2.34 points per drive prior (25th).
  • Since their Week 5 bye, a league-low 18.7% of the passing plays against the Eagles have gained 10 or more yards. The league average is 27.3%.
  • A league-low 4.4% have gained 20 or more yard yards. The league average is 8.9%.
  • The Eagles have 22 more plays of 20-plus yards than their opponents, the largest differential in the league.
  • 29.8% of the passing plays against the Rams have gained 10 or more yards, 31st in the league.
  • The Rams have a takeaway on 19.3% of opponent possessions (3rd) since their Week 5 bye after a 7.7% rate (22nd) prior.
  • The Rams have allowed 1.80 points per drive at home this season (5th) compared to 2.80 per drive on the road (29th).
  • The Eagles have gained 47.7% of their yardage through rushing, the highest rate in the league.
  • 28.4% of the Rams yardage has been gained via rushing (28th).
  • 6.8% of the Rams rushing plays have gained 10 or more yards, 31st in the league.

Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: Hurts did not have a clean game last Thursday, completing 18-of-28 passes for 221 yards and no touchdowns.

He had just one game this season with fewer passing points than last week (8.8).

The Eagles did get Jordan Mailata back last week, but Hurts was still pressured on 32.4% of his dropbacks (16th).

Hurts has been pressured on 42.1% of his dropbacks this season, ahead of only Deshaun Watson (43.7%) and Jacoby Brissett (44.3%).

Dealing with pressure has been an issue for Hurts.

He has completed 50.6% of his passes under pressure (17th) for 5.7 yards per attempt (25th).

When kept clean, Hurts has completed a league-high 78.7% of his passes for 9.7 Y/A (2nd).

The Rams can get to the quarterback, getting pressure on 38% of dropbacks, up to third in the league.

But getting to the quarterback has not mattered much for the Rams limiting fantasy production.

Even with pressure, they have allowed a 55.7% completion rate (27th), 7.4 Y/A (29th), and an 8.25 touchdown rate (31st).

When the Rams have not gotten pressure, they have allowed a 71.8% completion rate (20th), 8.6 Y/A (29th), and a 5.0% touchdown rate (22nd).

While Hurts did not throw the ball well on Thursday, he still added 39 rushing yards and another touchdown on the Tush Push, his 11th rushing touchdown on the season and 9th rushing touchdown over his past five games.

That rushing touchdown equity makes Hurts a high-floor, high-ceiling QB1, and the passing matchup is a positive.

The Rams are 26th in passing points allowed per game (15.0).

Matthew Stafford: Stafford has gotten on track with the return of his top pass catchers.

Over the past four weeks, Stafford is third in the NFL in passing yards per game (291.3) and fifth in touchdown rate (6.6%).

He has thrown 10 touchdowns over that span after throwing only 3 touchdowns through six games.

For fantasy, he has averaged 20.0 points per game, with 17 or more in three of those four.

Stafford is coming off a season-high 10.9 yards per pass attempt against the Patriots.

This is a hot passing game going against a hot pass defense.

The Philadelphia pass defense has been on fire since their Week 5 bye.

Over their past six games, the Eagles have allowed a league-low 5.2 yards per pass attempt and a 1.1% touchdown rate.

We have noted for weeks that they have faced a softer slate since their bye. Deshaun Watson, Daniel Jones, and Cooper Rush are a part of that sample, but so are Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels.

Of the six quarterbacks they have faced since their bye, only Trevor Lawrence has scored more points than his average entering the matchup with the Eagles, and he had 2 rushing touchdowns.

It is a heavy bye week, and this passing game represents a challenge for this pass defense, but Stafford is more of a QB2 that we are playing for the floor and trying to run into a spike week rather than chasing it.
