Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: It has not been a perfectly clean run for Hurts to open the year, but he has reeled off three straight top-12 scoring weeks.

This past week was his strongest fantasy game since it came on a season-high 20.8 passing points and not the reliance on goal-line plunges.

Hurts threw for a season-high 316 yards and 8.6 yards per pass attempt.

We are plugging in Hurts as a QB1, but we need those passing numbers from last week to stick around because Hurts is running less to open this season.

He is averaging 33.5 rushing yards per game over the opening month after 52.3 yards per game in 2021 and 50.7 yards per game last season.

The Rams have not been a disaster on defense.

Anthony Richardson was the first quarterback to finish higher than QB21 against them, and they have a credible resume versus Geno Smith, Brock Purdy, and Joe Burrow to go along with Richardson.

Richardson added 11.6 rushing points to boost his total but only completed 44.0% of his passes a week after Burrow completed 53.1%.

The Rams are not getting a lot of pressure (23rd in pressure rate at 32.4%), and they are playing man coverage at the 11th-lowest rate in the league.

When Hurts has not been pressured, he is sixth in the league in completion rate (76.8%). When opponents have played coverage, he has been better than in previous seasons. Against zone coverage, Hurts is averaging 8.5 yards per pass attempt, which is sixth in the league.
