  • The Jets have the highest success rate defending passing plays in the league (67.1%).
  • Arizona has the lowest success rate defending passing plays (50.8%).
  • 31.1% of the passing plays against Arizona have gained 10 or more yards, 31st in the league.

Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

Kyler Murray: Murray had his lowest-scoring week of the season (4.8 points) last week, completing 13-of-20 passes for 154 yards without a touchdown.

He added 6 rushing yards.

Through 9 games, Murray has four QB1 scoring weeks and another four weeks in the back half of weekly scoring.

He has been a boom-or-bust fantasy option, which is why I have stayed steady in recommending him as a QB2 for fantasy where you can absorb his spike weeks versus chasing them.

He has a few upcoming matchups to get excited for, but this is not one of them.

Last week was not entirely his fault as the game script became one-sided, and the Bears never put up a true fight in the second half.

Arizona was 13% below pass rate expectations on Sunday, resulting in a season-low 23 dropbacks for Murray.

That said, the matchup was never truly set up for passing production, either.

We have a similar spot this week.

The Jets are 2nd in completion rate (57.1%), 5th in yards per pass attempt (6.4 Y/A), and 3rd in touchdown rate (2.4%) allowed to passers this season.

Murray is going to need his legs here to do some lifting, which is possible as a lifeline.

The Jets allowed 59 yards rushing to C.J. Stroud last week and 58 yards on the ground to the New England quarterbacks the week before.

The Jets have allowed two QB1 scoring weeks this season, and both came along with a rushing touchdown.

Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers got off to a slow start on Halloween night, completing 7-of-14 passes for 32 yards in the first half against the Texans.

He then got hot in the second half, completing 15-of-18 passes for 179 yards (9.9 Y/A) and 3 touchdowns.

That propelled Rodgers to his first QB1 scoring week since Week 3.

If you were starting Geno Smith or Jordan Love, Rodgers is a potential streamer in 1QB leagues, but I prefer to use him as a floor-based QB2.

Arizona has been a tricky defense to crack.

They have only allowed three QB1 scoring weeks and two of those came with significant rushing lines from Josh Allen (39 yards and 2 rushing scores) and Jayden Daniels (47 yards and a touchdown).

We have tried to stream a few pocket passers against Arizona such as Jared Goff (QB18), Brock Purdy (QB19), and Tua Tagovailoa (QB20) and have come up empty.

On paper, this defense does not scare you.

We want to attack their peripheral metrics.

Arizona is 29th in pressure rate (29.3%) and dead last in success rate against passing plays (50.8%).

They are allowing 7.6 Y/A (24th) and a 69.1% completion rate (27th).

What has saved them is that they have allowed only a 3.8% touchdown rate (10th).

They have allowed one or fewer passing touchdowns in five of their past six games.
