Quarterback
Geno Smith: After a six-game streak as a QB1 scorer, Smith has been the QB15 (15.3 points) and the QB17 (12.2 points) the past two weeks. Smith has thrown for just 5.4 yards per pass attempt in each of those games with one touchdown in each after passing for multiple touchdowns in each of his seven previous games.
Facing the 49ers and playing on the road in Arrowhead have claimed plenty of 2QB scoring weeks, but this week also does not get much better for Smith on paper. The Jets are 10th in completion rate allowed (62.3%) while allowing 6.4 yards per pass attempt (fifth) and a 2.6% touchdown rate (first). The Jets have allowed three QB1 scoring weeks since Week 3, with those passers getting there solely on rushing production. They have been Josh Allen twice (with 20.6 and 10.7 rushing points) and Trevor Lawrence (11.1 rushing points). Smith does have the ability to create with his legs (2.4 rushing points per game) but this is another week where he is better served as a QB2 than a 1QB starter.
