Quarterback
Jared Goff: Goff’s home splits would not be denied last week, even without Amon-Ra St. Brown in the lineup.
Goff had his best fantasy game of the year in Week 5, completing 20-of-28 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns.
Picking up where left off a year ago, Goff has now thrown seven of his nine passing touchdowns at home.
Since joining the Lions, Goff has now thrown 43 touchdowns in the regular season at home, second in the NFL.
This week he is on the road, where he has thrown 14 passing touchdowns over that same span, 26th in the league.
The Buccaneers have allowed 6.5 yards per pass attempt (10th) and are fourth in passing points allowed per attempt (0.288). They have not been overly tested to open the year but did hold Jalen Hurts to 11.0 passing points in Week 3.
One thing the Bucs do is blitz. They are third in the NFL in blitz rate (39.2%).
When Goff has been blitzed, he is 26th in rating (80.6) and 22nd in yards per pass attempt (6.5 Y/A).
When he has not been blitzed, Goff is averaging 8.6 Y/A (third) with a 114.4 rating (second).
Given Goff’s history on the road and his splits versus the blitz to open the year, he is more of a higher-end QB2.
