NFL Showdown is not about who you play as much as how you play them.
Median projections are a tool in the toolbox, but they are to be trusted far less than they would be on the main slate.
This is because if a player produces less or more than their projection, it can have big consequences..
The most likely outcome is only one of infinite outcomes.
When ownership dictates that the field has the game figured out, lean into builds around a different scenario.
The term “any given Sunday” should be the mantra for successfully building Showdown lineups.
Slate Breakdown
The Buffalo Bills are heading to MetLife to take on the New York Jets as 2.5-point road favorites.
Four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers has a new franchise, and it came with a new #17 to pepper with targets.
Rodgers and Garrett Wilson have had an impressive connection in camp, and there is no reason to believe it won’t transition to Monday Night Football.
The total is set at 45.5, which feels low for these two offenses, but the Jets may have the best defense in the league which could keep games under.
Look to pair Wilson and Rodgers often in the Flex while mixing Josh Allen at captain with some unique receiver pairings.

Buffalo Bills Offense
Tier 1 DFS Showdown Plays:
Josh Allen – $11,400
Even $11,400 is too cheap for Allen. His captain roster percentage is going to push 40%, so if you are planning to play him as captain, this is a good week to just lock him in that spot. That’s exactly what I would advise in any contest with 20 or fewer entries while getting unique with the way we pair him with his receivers.
Stefon Diggs – $10,600
Diggs is going to be an uncomfortable fade, but our lineups get significantly more unique as soon as we choose not to include Diggs with Allen as captain. He should still be a staple of the player pool, but don’t be afraid to omit him in favor of the Aaron Rodgers/Garrett Wilson pairing in the Flex.
