Week 16 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is in my player pool that weekend for DFS.

This article series covers exactly that.

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Week 16 DFS Content:

Our core players are the players we will have the most exposure to at their positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments.

Quarterback

Kyler Murray ($6,100/$8,000)

I get it with anyone avoiding Murray at this point, but he is another objectively good spot and has pricing that fits.

Carolina has allowed multiple passing touchdowns in 10 games, the most in the league.

They just allowed 19.1 fantasy points to Cooper Rush and have allowed top-10 scoring weeks this season to Caleb Williams (23.6 points), Marcus Mariota (19.6 points), and Bo Nix (29.8 points) as part of their sample of ranking 31st in passing points allowed per attempt (0.521).

Michael Penix ($4,500/$6,000)

Penix is fragile because we have not seen him play (16 total dropbacks in the preseason and 5 attempts during the season in clean-up spots).

But due to his salary, Penix will largely be played in cash games (and gamers will want to pay up at running back again).

This is a good matchup for him in his NFL debut to turn in productivity.

Atlanta is a significant home favorite against a team with a limited pass rush.

The Giants are 29th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.496), allowing a 70% completion rate (30th), 7.7 Y/A (28th), and a 4.8% touchdown rate (20th).
