Quarterback
Jordan Love: With Aaron Rodgers out Sunday due to COVID, the 2020 first-rounder will make his first career start. Love was an interesting prospect. He was loved by scouts for his big arm, but has a checkered resume entering the league. He had a monster 2018 season, throwing for 8.6 Y/A and a 32-to-6 TD/INT ratio as a 20-year old sophomore. He then followed that up by taking a full fall backwards in 2019, dropping down to 7.2 Y/A (22nd percentile for final season passers since 2000), a 61.9% completion rate (39th percentile) and a 1.2 TD/INT ratio (fifth percentile).
Love did well in the preseason for whatever that is worth here. He completed 24-of-35 passes (68.6%) for 271 yards (7.7 Y/A) with a touchdown and an interception.
In his first ever start, Love draws a Kansas City defense that is 24th in yards allowed per pass attempt (0.51) and 29th in yards allowed per pass attempt (8.4 Y/A). The only quarterbacks to face the Chiefs and not finish as the QB13 or higher have been Baker Mayfield and Taylor Heinicke. There are better streamers in 1QB formats, but Love can potentially patch a hole for a needy 2Qb team.
