  • The Ravens were ninth in dropback rate in the first half of games last season and seventh in neutral pass rate according to RBSDM.
  • Lamar Jackson has averaged 0.68 fantasy points per dropback throughout his career. He averaged 0.59 last season, just behind Brock Purdy (0.61) and Josh Allen (0.6) for the league lead.
  • Gus Edwards was fourth among running backs with 26 carries in goal-to-go situations last season, and he led the league with 12 touchdowns in those situations. Derrick Henry should take on that role.

2023 Ravens Stats (NFL Rank):

  • Points: 483 (4th)
  • Total Offense: 6,296 (6th)
  • Plays: 1,076 (16th)
  • Yards Per Play: 5.9 (3rd)
  • Offensive TDs: 53 (4th)
  • Points Per Drive: 2.38 (5th)
  • Situation Neutral Pace: 28.1 (12th)

2024 Ravens Coaching Staff:

  • Head Coach: John Harbaugh
  • Offensive Coordinator: Todd Monken

Just looking at Baltimore’s total dropbacks does not paint the full picture of the offensive philosophy in the first season with Todd Monken

The Ravens spent the most game time leading in the entire league last season.

Baltimore ran just 85 offensive plays while trailing in the second half, easily the fewest in the league and the seventh fewest since 2000.

The 49ers were second with 121.

Baltimore’s dropback rate when leading in the second half was 44.3%, and they were almost always leading in the second half, helping to explain their low dropback number.

The Ravens were ninth in dropback rate in the first half of games last season and seventh in neutral pass rate according to RBSDM.

Those numbers more accurately represent what the Ravens want to do in competitive situations under Monken, and as we saw with the Eagles last season, they are likely to find themselves in more competitive situations this year, especially given their losses along the offensive line and on defense.
