Quarterback

Lamar Jackson: For the first half of Thursday night, it looked like we may finally run into our first dud from Jackson this season.

Jackson was 10-of-14 for 71 yards and 5.1 yards per pass attempt with 9 rushing yards at the break.

The ambulance was called, but not for Jackson.

He went wild after the break for the second time against the Bengals this season.

In the second half, Jackson was 15-of-19 for 219 yards (11.5 Y/A) with 3 touchdowns and 24 rushing yards.

Jackson has been a top-six scorer in four straight games and 8-of-10 games this season.

Jackson is the front-end QB1 for fantasy.

Jackson is throwing to the intermediate level more this season, where he has been at his best.

On throws 10-19 yards downfield, Jackson leads the league in completion rate (71.0%), yards per pass attempt (12.5 Y/A), and rating (142.3).

This matchup at least represents a potential challenge that Jackson has not faced often this season.

Due to injuries and circumstances with end of the season rest and COVID, Jackson has only made four career starts against the Steelers over his five seasons as a starter.

He and the Ravens are 1-3 in those games with three straight losses.

Jackson has never finished higher than QB12 for fantasy in a start against the Steelers.

Pittsburgh just slowed Jayden Daniels down for a season-low 50% completion rate and 5.9 Y/A.

Daniels also only ran for 5 yards.

Pittsburgh is fourth in passing points allowed per attempt (0.324) to passers.

We were in a similar spot a few weeks ago with Denver, though, and Jackson cooked up 23.6 fantasy points on only 19 pass attempts (he only ran for 4 yards).

The Steelers will also be without Alex Highsmith.

With Highsmith on the field, Pittsburgh has a 38.2% pressure rate compared to a 28.5% pressure rate when he is not on the field.

That is the difference between being 5th in the league and 30th.

Russell Wilson (TRUST): Wilson has been a top-10 scorer in two of his three games since taking over as the starter.

Wilson has only completed 58.8% of his passes (30th) since taking over but is averaging 8.7 yards per pass attempt (6th) with a 7.1% touchdown rate (5th).

We saw Wilson do something similar for fantasy last season.

Wilson is averaging 9.9 air yards per attempt, second in the NFL since Week 7.

He has attempted 17.6% of his passes 20 or more yards downfield (4th).

He also has thrown a league-high 57.6% of his passes shorter than 10 yards downfield.

It took us a few starts, but the layup or three-point offense is back.

James Harden would be proud because there are no mid-range jumpers here, the opposite of where Jackson has thrived this season.

The Steelers have been running heavily under Wilson, but that should change here.

Pittsburgh has a 46.6% dropback rate since Wilson took over (31st) and has thrown the ball 9% below expectations.

No team faces a lower run rate than the Ravens.

In part because they are good and leading games, but also because their run defense is so good.

This Baltimore defense is similar to the Detroit defense from last season.

The Ravens should think about allowing some rushing yards because they are funneling opponents to the worst part of their defense.

Baltimore faces a league-high 39.7 pass attempts per game.

On those attempts, they are allowing 7.9 yards per attempt (29th) and a 5.3% touchdown rate (24th), which has led to them ranking 27th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.503).

The Ravens have faced a league-high 53 red zone passes this season.

Baltimore has been a worse pass defense on the road, too.

They have allowed 8.7 Y/A (29th) and 6.9% touchdown rate (27th) in away games.
