- The Saints are 26th in the league in first down passing rate (45.0%) while the Titans are 32nd (39.6%).
- Trevor Siemian has the lowest expected completion rate (60.7%) in the league.
- The Saints are 30th in the league in catchable target rate (72.2%), ahead of only the Panthers (70.9%) and Bears (70.8%).
- The Titans are allowing -0.139 expected points added per play the past three weeks (fourth) after ranking 23rd in EPA defensively per play prior.
- Just 21.3% of the yardage allowed by the Saints has come via rushing, the lowest rate in the league.
Quarterback
Ryan Tannehill: Tannehill was not asked to do much Sunday night. He averaged a season-low 5.3 yards per pass attempt with 143 yards in the win, managing to tack on a rushing touchdown to his totals to salvage a QB14 scoring week in a low-scoring fantasy week for passers. Tannehill’s 4.3-yard average depth of targets was second to last in the league in Week 9 as he just protected an early lead against a stingy pass defense.
While the Titans did have a lead throughout and had a defensive score shorten possessions, the Titans were 2.7% over the expected pass rate in their first game without Derrick Henry. While that is not world-altering, it is their highest rate over expectation in a game this season.
Tannehill runs into another lackluster matchup against a Saints defense that is seventh in passing points allowed per attempt (0.40), but they do rank 22nd in yards allowed per attempt (7.8 yards) and 28th in yards allowed per completion (12.4). In the past two weeks, the Saints have allowed top-five scoring weeks to Tom Brady (25.2 points) and Matt Ryan (28.5). We also saw them allow 26.8 points to Daniel Jones earlier in the year to afford some upside potential for Tannehill as a QB2 option.
