Quarterback
Matthew Stafford: After a lull Weeks 9-10, Stafford has bounced back with three straight QB1 scoring weeks, throwing three touchdown passes in each of the past three games. Monday night was early-season-Stafford as he torched Arizona for 9.6 yards per pass attempt while completing 76.7% of his passes.
Stafford is now averaging a league-high 10.7 yards per pass attempt with the use of play-action, which is 3.1 more yards per attempt than without play-action, but he still used play-action on just 23.8% of his dropbacks, which is 26th in the league.
Stafford will come into Sunday minus Odell Beckham, leaving him with another lost asset, but the matchup has been one that has yielded fantasy points. The Seahawks are allowing 16.1 passing points per game (25th) on the strength of facing 39.8 pass attempts per game, the second-most in the league. On an efficiency basis, Seattle is 23rd in completion rate (67.2%) and 20th in yards allowed per pass attempt (7.3 Y/A). The thing saving Seattle is that they are allowing a 3.5% touchdown rate to passers, which is third in the league.
Those statistics are played out exactly to a tee in Stafford’s Week 5 line versus Seattle. Stafford threw for 365 yards and 9.9 Y/A, but has just one touchdown pass, which kept him at 16.5 fantasy points and the QB17. Continue to push Stafford out as a QB1 option, with some slight reservation about having a limited passing arsenal without Beckham and already without Robert Woods, who had a 12-150-0 line when these teams last squared off.
