In Sunday night’s Showdown, the Cleveland Browns visit the Baltimore Ravens in a divisional matchup. For a breakdown of this game, check out Rich Hribar’s Fantasy Football Worksheet.
The Ravens are just over field-goal favorites at home, and Lamar Jackson should dominate rostership as always. It looks like a tightly priced slate with very few values and a kicker, Justin Tucker, as the best value play. Running an optimizer with no customization is bringing back primarily builds with three to four Ravens.
Strategy
For roster construction, the even 3–3 build should be the most common by far, projected for 42% utilization. I would avoid that build unless you are mindful to create a contrarian lineup. 5–1 on slots are projected at 6.6% for the ravens and 3% for the Browns, the lowest difference between a favorite and underdog that I’ve seen this season.
Jackson should be rostered over 85% total and 32% at CPT, followed by a huge drop off to Nick Chubb, Mark Andrews, Marquise Brown and Jarvis Landry all between 7–9% CPT. Baker Mayfield projects as the second highest rostered player, but near seventh at CPT. It makes sense to take QB leverage at CPT when we can, so I’d go overweight with Mayfield CPT but maybe under the field with him in the flex.
It’s very easy to differentiate by building without Jackson, but be cognizant not to use the most obvious non—Jackson build, which will likely be heavily duplicated. It’s not fancy, but I like simply going overweight on Chubb, Andrews and Brown for CPT. Kareem Hunt and Sammy Watkins both seem very overpriced so I’m looking to fade them, and I prefer Donovan Peoples–Jones over Jarvis Landry given the salary discount.
DK Values
- Justin Tucker ($4200)
- Devonta Freeman ($6800)
DK Leverage
- Sammy Watkins ($5600) – Likely fourth option in pass game
- Ravens DST ($4400) – Priced up and near better-projected options
DK Build Ideas
- Max 1 DST, Max 1 K
- Max 2 depth WR/TE/RB
- Negative boost same team RBs
- If CPT QB, include one depth option in stack
- If CPT RB, negative boost opposing DST/K
- If CPT WR/TE boost team QB and force at least 1 QB (either team)
- Cumulative ownership under 250%
- Leave salary unspent
FD Values
- Devonta Freeman ($11000)
- Donovan Peoples-Jones ($8000)
FD Leverage
- Kareem Hunt ($11000)
- Latavius Murray ($9000)
FD Build Ideas
- No K or TE at MVP
- Focus on 3-2 build construction
- No solo CPT in 1-4 construction
- Negative boost opposing QBs (Lineups with both only win 30%)
- If WR CPT, boost QB
- QB is overused but RB and WR are underutilized at MVP
- Don’t stack 3 pass catchers from the same team
- Don’t force the max salary
