In Thursday night’s Showdown, the San Francisco 49ers visit the Tennessee Titans. For a breakdown of this game, check out Rich Hribar’s Fantasy Football Worksheet.

As favorites of just over a field goal, the 49ers should generally be more rostered in lineups. The three most expensive players are 49ers and it will be tough to fit them all. The Titans are still missing Derrick Henry and though Julio Jones is expected back it likely won't be at 100%, lowering their offense’s appeal.

Strategy

Though the game is lined relatively close, there are expected to be over 15 times as many rosters with five 49ers players as there are with five Titans. The discrepancy isn’t nearly as significant when it comes to four players from the same team in a lineup, with the favorites being over 10% more popular. The most utilized lineup is the 3–3 even build, expected near 40%.

it’s difficult to tell who will be most popular in the CPT slot, with ETR expecting George Kittle or Deebo Samuel each over 13%, while Daily Roto instead has the QBs each over 14%. Both A.J. Brown and Jeff Wilson Jr. are 8–11% from both sources. All of this suggests that it you can easily go all over the field on any player for leverage.

It makes sense to me to go under weight on Samuel, who is performing at an absurd efficiency but has seen significantly reduced opportunities in the pass-game. Jones makes an interesting leverage opportunity, whereas I would prefer to be underweight or fade him entirely due to likelihood of re-injury, we know he has an absurdly high ceiling and will not be particularly popular. One of my favorite contrarian players in the league is Kyle Juszczyk, who is always low priced and does receive targets and red zone work; his ownership should be in the 3-11% range.

DK Values

  • Jeff Wilson Jr. ($5200)
  • Dontrell Hilliard ($2800)

DK Leverage

  • Anyone $5000 or lower besides Hilliard

DK Build Ideas

  • Max 1 DST, Max 1 K
  • Max 2 depth WR/TE/RB
  • Negative boost same team RBs
  • If CPT QB, include one depth option in stack
  • If CPT RB, negative boost opposing DST/K
  • If CPT WR/TE boost team QB and force at least 1 QB (either team)
  • Cumulative ownership under 250%
  • Leave salary unspent

FD Values

  • Jeff Wilson Jr. ($11,000)
  • Nick Westbrook-Ikhine ($7500)

FD Leverage

  • Either Titans RB – both are overpriced and there are better options in range
  • Anyone $7000 or lower has a bad projection and should help differentiate

FD Build Ideas

  • No K or TE at MVP
  • Focus on 3-2 build construction
  • No solo CPT in 1-4 construction
  • Negative boost opposing QBs (Lineups with both only win 30%)
  • If WR CPT, boost QB
  • QB is overused but RB and WR are underutilized at MVP
  • Don’t stack 3 pass catchers from the same team
  • Don’t force the max salary
