Median projections are a tool in the toolbox, but they are to be trusted far less than they would be on the main slate. This is because of the large ramifications associated with a single player underproducing or overproducing relative to their projection.
The most likely outcome is only one of infinite outcomes.
When ownership dictates that the field has the game figured out, lean into builds around a different scenario.
The term “any given Sunday” should be the mantra for successfully building Showdown lineups.
Slate Breakdown
The Chicago Bears are heading to Washington to take on the Commanders as 5.5-point underdogs. The total is set at 44.
Both teams clicked offensively last week, leaving us to decide which versions we’d get on Thursday.
Washington has a better chance of continuing their offensive success as the concepts brought over from Kansas City by Eric Bieniemy appear to be working.
They not only project to score more points, but their players are priced modestly enough to make it difficult to include many Bears.

Justin Fields $11,000 –
Fields put together his most productive day as a passer last week with 335 yards and 4 touchdowns on 35 attempts. This passing volume was not unheard of as he did attempt 37 passes in Week 1. The unlikely part is that he will be able to produce even a fraction of last week’s results a second time. If he has another ceiling performance this week, it will most likely be on the ground.
