NFL Showdown is not about who you play as much as how you play them.

Median projections are a tool in the toolbox, but they are to be trusted far less than they would be on the main slate. This is because of the large ramifications associated with a single player underproducing or overproducing relative to their projection.

The most likely outcome is only one of infinite outcomes.

When ownership dictates that the field has the game figured out, lean into builds around a different scenario.

The term “any given Sunday” should be the mantra for successfully building Showdown lineups.

Slate Breakdown

The New York Giants remained on the west coast to take on the San Francisco 49ers as 10-point underdogs. The total is set to 44.5.

With a slate so obvious, it becomes tricky to differentiate from the field. We can either invest more heavily in the Giants or commit to mostly 49ers onslaughts.

Given that I expect the 49ers to cover, I recommend the latter.

Injury Notes

  • Saquon Barkley – Ankle – Out
  • Brandon Aiyuk – Shoulder – Out

New York Giants Offense

Tier 1 DFS Showdown Plays:

Daniel Jones – $10,200

Jones is one of the rare 1uarterbacks I feel comfortable playing unstacked. He has rushed 22 times in two weeks and will now be without Saquon Barkley. He’s going to have a tough night, and he’s nearly $1,000 more expensive than Brock Purdy, so he won’t feel great fitting into our lineups.
