Quarterback

Sam Darnold (TRUST): Darnold completed a season-high 82.4% (28-of-34) of his passes on Sunday night for 290 yards (8.5 Y/A) with 3 touchdowns.

Closing the week as QB12 (19.0 points), Darnold has finished in the back half of weekly scorers just once this season.

Darnold has 7 interceptions, but he has thrown for 8.5 yards per pass attempt or more with multiple passing touchdowns in six of eight games this season.

This is as good of a matchup as we have had for quarterbacks this season.

The Jaguars are 31st in passing points allowed per attempt (0.565) and give up a league-high 19.0 passing points per game.

The Jaguars have allowed the QB1 overall scorer three times this season, the most in the NFL.

They have allowed top-12 weeks to Deshaun Watson, Caleb Williams, and Joe Flacco.

Every quarterback except for Jordan Love (who exited early) to face the Jaguars has scored more points than they have averaged entering that matchup.

The Jaguars have also allowed double-digit rushing yardage in every game this season.

It may not matter much for Darnold, but that includes Joe Flacco (22 yards) and Tua Tagovailoa (11 yards).

Mac Jones: Jones appears to be taking over Trevor Lawrence for at least the short term and potentially the rest of the season with the starting quarterback dealing with a shoulder injury.

Jones had only 10 QB1 scoring weeks over his 42 career starts with the Patriots.

His touchdown rate dipped each season while his interception rate rose each year.

Jones has more talent around him in Jacksonville, but also is tied to a sinking ship this season.

He is only an option for 2QB formats.

Minnesota is second in the NFL in blitz rate (39.1%).

During his time with New England, Jones ranked 37th out of 41 qualifying passers against the blitz, completing 60.1% of his passes (29th) for 6.4 Y/A (31st) with 1.4 touchdowns per interception (38th).
