- The Eagles have the highest point differential (+46) among teams with a losing record this season.
- 44.9% of the yardage gained by the Eagles has come via rushing, the highest rate in the league.
- 26.5% of the yardage gained against Washington has come via rushing, the second-lowest rate in the league.
- Since Week 8, the Eagles have rushed for 128.7 more yards per game than their opponent, the most in the league. The next closest team over that span (Indianapolis) is at 67.0 more yards.
- The Eagles are averaging a league-high 4.8 carries per game that result in 10 or more yards.
- Just 8.8% of the completions allowed by the Eagles have gained 20 or more yards, the lowest rate in the league.
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts: After missing Week 13 due to an ankle injury, the Eagles have suggested that they are still going back to Hurts as their starting quarterback when his healthy, but with Hurts dealing with a high-ankle sprain, we are seeing he and Gardner Minshew take first-team reps early in the week.
Prior to injury, Hurts was coming off his worst game of the season, completing 14-of-31 passes for 129 yards (4.2 Y/A), zero touchdowns, and three interceptions against the Giants. Hurts had the lowest expected completion rate (53.7%) in the league in Week 12 per Next Gen Stats and was even 8.5% below that mark, providing some déjà vu from a year ago.
After scoring 20 or more fantasy points in each of his opening seven games this season, Hurts has reached that arbitrary threshold just once since. He has three passing touchdowns over his past five games and although he did drop a three-rushing touchdown performance in Week 11, that is the only game in which Hurts has a rushing touchdown over his past six games played.
Minshew drew a cushy start against the Jets and delivered, completing 20-of-25 passes for 242 yards (9.7 Y/A) and a pair of touchdowns.
Washington has played much better defensively of late, allowing 6.6 yards per pass attempt since their Week 9 bye against Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Derek Carr, and Dak Prescott.
If Hurts is 100% and can run, Washington has struggled with mobile passers this season, allowing 3.9 rushing points per game (28th) to opposing quarterbacks. His rushing ability alone keeps the floor in play for Hurts as a fringe QB1, but we have become more dependent on that rushing than ever as Hurts has thrown the ball just 14, 17, 23, 24, and 31 times in his past five starts.
If Minshew does start again, he is a floor-based option for 2QB gamers.
