NFC Championship Game Prediction: Austin Ekeler More Than 25.5 Receiving Yards
Austin Ekeler’s receiving yards in games the Commanders were lined as an underdog this year show he’s relied upon as a receiver to a degree that would allow him to top this total:
- 52 yds on 4 catches
- 22 yds on 2 catches
- 47 yds on 4 catches
- 89 yds on 8 catches
- 26 yds on 3 catches
- 41 yds on 4 catches
He’s topped this receiving yard total in five of the six games.
In addition, there is a matchup edge for the Commanders in that the Eagles just lost starting LB Nakobe Dean and are now facing a mobile quarterback in Jayden Daniels.
I expect the focus of this defense to be on the mobility of Daniels rather than the short underneath throws to Ekeler.
In fact, Ekeler had 89 receiving yards in his last game against the Eagles.
Without starting G Sam Cosmi, there could be an even greater emphasis on fast passes and shorter passes to avoid negative plays.
And if that is the case, Ekeler could be a prime beneficiary.
