2025 NFL Draft Preview & Betting Guide
If you haven’t been following the 2025 NFL Draft and aren’t familiar with the college prospects, don’t fret. We have you covered. This NFL Draft preview will highlight key players, their odds, which team will likely draft them, and much more.
The Players Favored to Get Drafted Early
The NFL draft can be very unpredictable. Who expected the Atlanta Falcons to use the No. 8 pick on quarterback Michael Penix Jr. last year? Short answer: no one.
While there may not be something that extreme this year, many agree that there is far too much “consensus” among NFL Draft mock drafts and insiders. Some believe we are in for some real surprises come draft day.
These are the players favored to go for each of the top 10 picks according to the latest NFL Draft odds at Bet365:
- No. 1 pick, Tennessee Titans – Miami QB Cam Ward (-10000)
- No. 2 pick, Cleveland Browns – Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter (-800)
- No. 3 pick, New York Giants – Penn State Edge Abdul Carter (-550)
- No. 4 pick, New England Patriots – LSU OT Will Campbell (-400)
- No. 5 pick, Jacksonville Jaguars – Michigan DT Mason Graham (+137)
- No. 6 pick, Las Vegas Raiders – Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty (+110)
- No. 7 pick, New York Jets – Missouri OT Armand Membou (+150)
- No. 8 pick, Carolina Panthers – Georgia LB Jalon Walker (+140)
- No. 9 pick, New Orleans Saints – Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders (+200)
- No. 10 pick, Chicago Bears – Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty (+350)
Things could look chalky to start, but once you get to Jacksonville at pick No. 5, things get a lot more uncertain.
How Will the Quarterback Class Shake Out?
The quarterback position is always the most important topic in the NFL, but it could be a wild night this Thursday as many questions exist with this group (outside of Cam Ward going No. 1):
- Will Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur, slide out of the top 20 picks and end up in Pittsburgh (No. 21), creating an Aaron Rodgers-like green room event that goes on for hours?
- Speaking of Rodgers, do the Steelers give up on the idea of the old quarterback and draft someone half his age, like Jaxson Dart or Jalen Milroe?
- Don’t expect a draft like last year’s, where six of the top 12 picks were quarterbacks, but the over 2.5 first-round quarterbacks (-185 at Bet365) should still hit even if Sanders and Dart end up sliding a bit.
Defensive Line Prospects Headline the Strongest Position Group
The 2025 NFL draft class is most notable for its great talent and depth along the defensive line/edge. Some believe 35 of these players could go in the top 100 picks, including 10 or so in the first round alone.
- Do the Falcons (No. 15 pick) go after elite edge rusher Mykel Williams, who has -400 odds to go under 15.5 for his draft position?
- After making Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins the most expensive wide receiver duo in NFL history, the Bengals should focus on defense. Will they take a defensive lineman/edge with their first pick at No. 17? They have -155 odds to do so.
- Do the Steelers (No. 21) forget about the quarterback position and take a defensive lineman/edge to help T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward? They have +175 odds to select a D-lineman, which is their highest odds for any position (quarterback is +250 for Pittsburgh).
- The Buffalo Bills signed Joey Bosa in free agency, but they have +100 odds to use their first pick (No. 30) on an edge rusher, which could be uber-athletic and high upside James Pearce, Jr. (-105 odds for his draft position under 31.5).
It’s also going to be interesting to see if the Chicago Bears (No. 10 pick) begin the Ben Johnson era with a skill player (running back Ashton Jeanty or tight end Tyler Warren) or if they address their offensive line first to ensure that group is stronger for young quarterback Caleb Williams.
Best Bets for the 2025 NFL Draft
If you opt for the $1,000 Bet365 bonus code offer, you get up to $1,000 back if your first bet loses. That means you have some insurance to make a more risky bet than you otherwise might want to.
Bet365 offers a wide variety of 2025 NFL Draft prop bets, but here are a few of our favorite value picks this week:
- 2nd Cornerback Drafted – Will Johnson (-185) could be the pick for Miami at No. 13, making him the second corner after Travis Hunter.
- 1st Safety Drafted – Backing the fundamentals of Malaki Starks (-115) over the speed of Nick Emmanwori (-105) for the top safety drafted.
- Exact Position of First Team Pick – We’ll take defensive line/edge for the Steelers (+150), Bills (+100), and Bengals (-155).
- Exact Position of First Team Pick – The Rams (No. 26 pick) will surprise people by taking a first-round quarterback (+650) with Matthew Stafford getting up there in years.
- Team to Draft Shedeur Sanders – With the Derek Carr shoulder injury news, we’re going with the Saints (+150) to land the Colorado quarterback at No. 9.
- Offensive Players Drafted in 1st Round – We’re taking over 15.5 (-110) with the expectation of three quarterbacks, two running backs, two tight ends, two wide receivers (Travis Hunter excluded), and seven offensive linemen getting it done for 16 offensive players.
- Exact Position of Mr. Irrelevant (last player picked) – It’s a stab in the dark. Still, in a draft known for being so historically deep at one position, we’re banking on defensive line/edge (+320) while also throwing a bone at cornerback (+700).
