Super Bowl Preview

Super Bowl Preview: Key Matchups and Betting Tips for Winning Conference

With four teams left, let’s consider the potential matchups for which conference has the edge in Super Bowl LIX.

Philadelphia Eagles Vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • It would be a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, the game the Chiefs won 38-35 where Philadelphia set the record for most points in a Super Bowl loss.
  • The Eagles came back to defeat the Chiefs 21-17 in Arrowhead last season.
  • Saquon Barkley and the offensive line would be the toughest challenge yet this year for Kansas City’s defense.
  • Kansas City’s secondary has Jaylen Watson back and could match up better with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
  • If Jalen Hurts is bothered by latest injury, Kansas City’s blitz could get after him.
  • Edge: Chiefs for big-game experience, coaching, and quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles Vs. Buffalo Bills

  • The Eagles defeated Buffalo 37-34 in an overtime classic in 2023.
  • Philadelphia’s secondary would challenge Buffalo’s weaker receiving corps.
  • Both teams have great offensive lines, but the Eagles have a better defensive front.
  • Josh Allen has been very dominant indoors in his career.
  • The Bills have an NFL-record low eight giveaways in 19 games.
  • Buffalo did a better job of slowing down Derrick Henry in a rematch, but the Ravens still rushed for 176 yards as a team, something the Eagles would want to exploit with Barkley.
  • Edge: Slight edge to Buffalo for quarterback advantage.

Washington Commanders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is very proficient in situational football (third/fourth downs, red zone, fourth quarter/overtime) and could have the right calmness to duel with Patrick Mahomes on the big stage.
  • Dan Quinn has Super Bowl experience as a head coach (lost Super Bowl LI).
  • Commanders will be aggressive on fourth down and could limit Mahomes’ chances with the ball.
  • No rookie quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl.
  • The Chiefs have a significantly better defense, special teams, and more big-game experience.
  • Andy Reid is great off bye weeks.
  • Edge: Fun game but Chiefs should win this one if it happens.

Washington Commanders vs. Buffalo Bills

  • The Bills were only 2-3 in the regular season against other playoff teams.
  • Washington’s offensive prowess could make for another 44-42 type shootout indoors that the Bills had with the Rams and Lions this year.
  • Jayden Daniels protects the ball well against a ball-hawking defense from Buffalo.
  • Both kickers are shaky.
  • Two defensive coaches who aren’t afraid of going for it on fourth down.
  • Bills lack the outside receivers to exploit Washington’s secondary.
  • Edge: Another potentially fun game but the Bills have that big experience edge at quarterback and it would finally be a shot to deliver the long-awaited championship to Buffalo.

Super Bowl Preview: The Edge Goes to the AFC

Whether it’s the Chiefs securing their legacy as the first three-peat Super Bowl champion or the city of Buffalo finally hoisting a Lombardi Trophy, the AFC has a significant advantage (-140 at Bet365) for winning Super Bowl LIX over the NFC. But all of these games would be exciting in their own way, and we’d enjoy betting on any of them with top promos for these sportsbooks.
